My mom always made a cucumber salad similar to this. She used mayo and a little sugar instead of garlic salt. She would also use salt and pepper. Very good and simple.

I’ll have to check the jar for sugar in the ingredient list. Beware that it’s $13 a quart ($11 on sale). It’s some fancy stuff.

Most creamy dressings get their “creaminess” from mayo, so it was a smart bet. Though from the picture it does also look like it might be tzatziki too (plus it’s cucumber based).

You can also rinse chopped or sliced onions under cold water to take away some of the bite. Tip I picked up from celebrity chef Rick Bayless.
