I think I watched a Beta64 where this game actually turned into SA1 on Dreamcast. More accurately, this game was going to be SA1, then they scrapped all the code and started fresh on Dreamcast. Not wanting to waste their work, they released this as a bonus to some other game they had coming out, I can't remember.

I was going to buy this game when it came out. Decided not to. What a good decision!

I like the established archtype of Link being male, and I do not see a reason to force choice of gender in Zelda games. A zelda spin off where you play as Zelda, in a sort of flipped event where Link is prince? Sure. But keep Link male. It was annoying enough with so many female characters in Hyrule Warriors. I got one. It was so incredibly tempting to sell on ebay, given how rare and much it is going for...but in the end I decided to keep it myself. Wish there were more for everybody.
