Last season the show portrayed a mom accidentally killing her own son.

Can I just say that I LOVE the end credits for this series. I thought the map showing how the oil helped advance Japan’s war drive was fantastic, I clapped. The one that sticks with me is the flaming little girl’s shoes, just brutal. There seriously needs to be an award for best end credits, they’re killing it!

If I’m remembering faces correctly, the woman who OD’d was the same woman who was playing the piano for Nygaard’s fundraiser earlier in the season. She was her former student. Which makes me wonder if Phippsy and she didn’t meet through Nygaard. Phippsy obviously resents her for some reason. I wonder if there isn’t

Whoa! A lot of reveals tonight, a few many of us here bounced around. But if anyone would have guess one of the biggest reveals of the show would be a violation of The League of Nations........

Ohhhh, I was so close in last week’s comment section. Smuggling past the oil embargo instead of environmental cover-up, but otherwise got it right. If there is a super-rich person just hanging around the periphery of a noir story you can pretty much guaranty they are the ultimate baddie.

Della was raised at a time when a woman politely waited for a man to ask her for a date. She’s not used to the leading role in a relationship, and Hazel is an independent young woman, who works with glamorous Hollywood celebrities. Plus, Della really loved Hazel, but Della got swept away by another independent woman (a

I don’t think the show will redeem Barry, nor should they, I think it was more just giving the character an honest reaction. I think there’s this odd innocence to Barry (not in a way that makes him likeable, just one that makes it understandable how he was able to be manipulated into a horrible person) that was kind

The right thought here is “Huh, that’s quite ironic!” and not “Huh, that must be why”.

Nah, the timelines don’t match up. Season 2 of MQ was shot in late 2020 and early 2021. At that point, season 1 of White Lotus hadn’t even premiered yet (July 2021), and everyone at that point thought that WL would be a limited series with no subsequent seasons. So when Abraham was filming season 2 of MQ, nobody had

He’s worse in MQ

More like “Grind Booty Pest”! Right guys?

That was also his character on Mythic Quest. He was a bumbling Lothario constantly saying things that were inappropriate and cringy. It was funny in the context of the show but not if he was staying in character with the rest of the cast.

That isn’t a valid excuse.  but the irony certainly struck me, that apparently in white lotus he was playing himself!

I mean...that would certainly fit the definition of an excuse if he tried to use it.

You have to remember that the popularity of the term wasn’t originated in White America. The original term is REALLY old and attributed to a pamphleteer suspected to be of Black descent and aimed at black Americans. The 80's and 90's popularization of the term can mostly be attributed to Jesse Jackson who popularized

I like how in America, “Asian” means people of East Asian descent, and if you’re talking about anyone from elsewhere in Asia you need to be more specific, but in the UK “Asian” means people of South Asian descent, and if you’re talking about people from anywhere else you need to be more specific.

Thank you. I’m a Canadian of Jamaican descent and the number of times a white person has condescendingly told me I should know my roots because I can’t say much about my family history is crazy. They get done telling me about their great-great-great grandpa and then ask me about mine, like, he was probably a slave?

Yeah, that’s why he said:

Hey, we Asian-Americans are also mostly identified by continent rather than geographical explicitness as well. I’d think that the primary issue is that because of the slave trade it is nearly impossible to identify which part of the continent any individual can trace themselves to.

Sure, I guess Women’s History month is an insult too, but we have these ‘honorariums’ as a means of focusing on certain groups during a given time in order to honor them collectively. I don’t like “African-American” much either but not for the silly reason Freeman stated. Most Americans don’t know geography or
