No idea why you got this much protest for an anodyne comment. 55 is old compared to being younger than 55. People can start new loves and lives at that age but they have fewer years in front of them than they had behind them.

I thought we were well past thinking that going direct to streaming was like a demotion of quality and comparable to “direct to video.” A lot of good movies premiere on streaming. I mean if they’re good enough for star-studded, buzzy TV shows ( how much entertainment media and criticism covers network vs. streaming

I’m glad you remembered the car-fornicating ladies. I’d also add Pig and Nic Cage’s performance. Also Passing in picture, director, and the lead actors.

Well, and spoiler for the last line spoken in the movie: it's Alana saying "I love you, Gary." It's possible, I guess, PTA meant for an ambiguous ending that didn't approve of her seemingly winding up falling in love with him, but I didn't sense such a thing when I saw it.

Actually, I liked her season of Fargo. (This last one with Chris Rock was the one that kind of sucked.) Coon was also good in S2 of The Sinner. I think she acts in her husband's plays and he doesn't really write for TV, but I agree he should do something for the small screen with her as the lead.

“Bertha is so compelling as a character." Eh, no she's not. Ok, back to the interview.

No, it’s surprising all three episodes have been As. I don’t begrudge Ani loving the show—a positive experience is much better than a negative one—but the critics who have filed negative reviews are closer to the objective truth in my opinion. It’s too amiable and lightweight to be terrible, but it isn’t particularly

I don't know if Gadot can act so her as Cleopatra isn't good.

The CBS show whose name escapes me ( I saw a few episodes of the first season) where he's a landscape architect recently widowed with young daughters. I like Goggins playing regular dudes, he should do it more.

I don’t watch cable news at all, preferring print media, and to be fair, reading a newpaper and magazine in this day and age is pretty rage-inducing. If one isn’t outraged by what’s going on in this country right now, one isn’t paying attention. But yes, cable news shows, including likable Rachel’s, do tend to cover

This turned out to be a pretty good new series. I thought it was overrated at first but these last four or five episodes were great. The writers know how to balance funny comedy and unsettling mystery/drama.

That animal was probably not Bart the Bear. He was a professional!

Instead he took the sweet, sweet money from McDonald’s, and free Big Macs for life, probably.

Oh, right I missed that. But he still could have liked Pitt and thought him right for the part, based on a billion movies he did, but seen none of Kruger’s work other than Troy. Liking Pitt for the role but not Kruger even though both were in the same movie wouldn't make QT an asshole is what I'm saying.

Is Pitt terrible in Troy (haven’t seen it) and Kruger better than he is? Otherwise why this logic on two separate performances by two different people in the same movie? A director can like one performer and not the other. And Pitt was a movie star while Kruger was not, so he’d be offered Hollywood films way more over

This looks like the porn angle is a weak attempt to spruce up a generic horror plot. Unless the old woman monster is one of the actresses from an alternate universe/timeline.

Jodie Sweetin wrote a beautiful tribute on Instagram.

I had been thinking in past eps that maybe Adam wasn’t anything but who he seemed, in part because Shauna rear-ended HIS car which made it unlikely he planned it. If there are no more revelations about Adam, I’m glad the show fooled people who are always expecting every character in a mystery to be up to something.

In a very stacked Best Actress race this year, Nicole Kidman was nominated and won for Being The Ricardos? She’s one of our great working actors, but there were a lot  more deserving women this year, while her performance as Lucille Ball was good but nothing special, and marred by a terrible makeup job.
