I forgot this.

I think adult Shauna killed a whole new bunny that she saw in the garden and cooked. If my dinner host told me that, I wouldn’t be shocked. Perhaps rabbits are delicious! I’m finding her daughter’s writing to be cliched so far.

I couldn’t totally suspend my disbelief that Misty would destroy their chance of an assured and quick rescue. The timid character who has been bullied for so long and thus turns evil is a stock figure. Though Ricci in the present is having a blast.

I was gonna say he’s being oblivious instead of terrible and abusive towards her, but then I remembered I watched Kevin Can Fuck Himself and maybe Connor’s narcissism is greater and more harmful than I thought. But it’s hard to get mad at the face of Alan Ruck, whom we all like.

It’s been interesting to see over the seasons how much negative, black and white judgement from viewers the characters have gotten. I would contend that if anyone grew up in those circumstances—great wealth, power, privilege, with that abusive father—they might not be the same person they are now. It’s easy to say that

I really liked the direction and camera work here: more intimate close-ups, with scenes having a placid quality (belying the charged, brual content), the vibe of a European film.

I don’t often read celebrity gossip stories—but what I do consume is too much anyway. Just had the idea that for every story like this read—toxic to the brain—I’ll read two legitimate, important news stories about society. Or go for a walk, eat an apple, take up woodworking. A self-improvement system like Catholic

This is a perfect story idea to get Jim Belushi to do a new K-9 movie. Why should only Turner & Hooch get a reboot?

I’m a youngish middle-aged man and I have a couple platonic friends who are women in their early 70s. To counterbalance, I want to go the other way and befriend (only!) some women in their early 20s. This is probably a bad idea!

Modern capitalism being worse than what people do in the bedroom is a universally accepted position (pun not intended). Perhaps the religious fundamentalists disagree but it’s not like they were in positions of power (pun intended) in the United States! No, not all.

I think there’s a mistake here. Scott Alexander and Larry Karaszewski were the writers of the first season of American Crime Story, the one about OJ Simpson. I saw it and their names in the credits. I haven’t seen Impeachment but on IMDB the writing credit for all 10 eps goes to Sarah Burgess. Unless Alexander and

Sounds like name change could be in Don DeLillo’s White Noise.

This was an example of “great expectations, disappointing results.” Burton in his week’s worth of shows didn’t do a good job. Hopefully he’ll have a little more practice with this thing.

I saw My Dinner With Andre a full decade after seeing The Simpsons reference (the one with Martin).

I clicked on all the links to remind myself of all Gibson’s transgressions. I guess this could be what happens when you’re brought up by super religious fundamentalist/extremist parents. Or, it doesn’t help.

This I imagine happens with “classic movies” and all other very lauded, or very popular art when people come to them late. There’s a time window to see all this stuff.

Ha! The Blackface was startling and uncomfortable. I liked the Die Hard With Vengeance reference, if that’s what it was.

I never listened to his music. Only time I ever heard it was watching entertainment. It’s unfortunate the terrific and gone-to-soon Lovecraft Country used it in an episode or two. I don’t know how often his stuff was part of Hollywood movie/tv soundtracks, but I assume studios and filmmakers won’t do it anymore.

Effectively high. He was out of it and confused. It's the same wacky plot a lot of other shows have used.

I liked "'First they came for my private jets and I did nothing.'" Leave it Romulus to joke alter a wrenching Holocaust line and make it about his rich boy perks.
