The Catera was the first Caddy based on an Opel architecture. Wasn’t a success, but set the pattern for all the great Caddies since.

SUVs/CUVs are the new cars. I could see a time when we have CUV coupes, sports CUVs, personal luxury CUVs, roadster CUVs, LWB CUVs, sport compact CUVs, etc. etc. And everything that isn’t a crossover is just called a “car” and lumped together as one single niche category.

Just get it over with...

buzz lightyear is an astronaut. so he would look like an astronaut “in real life”.... 🔚

I actually think something like a low-key indie film from a superhero’s POV about the emotional struggle of having to ignore cries for help & prioritize who gets help would be a pretty interesting story to see told.

Driving over those tubes causes additional resistance against the tires of the passing cars? That resistance would cause those cars to spend more energy to maintain speed.

TARS!

I had the pleasure of meeting Mr Welburn a number of years back. He was one of the most chilled, laid-back, and clearly very talented guys I’ve met. Amazing too given that he rose through the ranks almost from the ground-up. Ed, if you’re reading this- congratulations. A retirement well deserved.

I recall someone on this site making an allegory that works here. DC is standing by the side of a road when Marvel comes walking by with a huge sack of money slung over his shoulder.

Jay Leno’s people will probably pick this up as a spare.

IIRC it was even better than that, having a mass-based rotating heat exchanger. Basically a big disc of honeycomb material, exhaust would blow through one side and heat it, and it’s rotation would carry it around to the intake side where the intake air would be pre-heated before combustion.

I believe this has technology on the turbine inlet similar to a “twin scroll” turbocharger, where there are two (or more) speeds of combustor inlet pressure, with different turbine blade designs for maximum efficiency.

Re: point 2: also, building the shared universe organically in the manner Marvel did always left them an out. If any of those movies had underperformed at any time, Marvel could have just claimed the post-credits stinger was a one-off fanservice thing and retooled their future without anyone being the wiser.

Two things:

But Marvel has a reliable cash...

Here’s another video explaining it as well.

Does being informed and correcting wrong information now called "that guy"? Please stop making that as an excuse for ignorance and/or wrong information.

I generally avoid being that guy. For some reason, that one actually bugged me. lol
