I've got no idea if Madonna's had anything done to her breasts. But your breasts are your breasts. They're not a blueprint for what Madonna's breasts look like, right? I am also almost her age, have never had children, and mine are just where I left them at about 25. Aging isn't a one-size fits all experience.

I think it was last year this American guy wrote an editorial lamenting that he couldn't carry his concealed handgun in Canada because of a harrowing incident which occurred when he was on vacation there with his wife. What was this life threatening incident? He and his wife were walking in a park near Calgary and a

"Sorry for my language. I just can't deal with this."

These are the internet moments in which I feel so, so Canadian. My family owns guns, and I know hot to shoot them. I have hunted before and have no problem with guns as a tool for that.
All that being said: WHAT IN THE EVERLOVING FUCK GOES THROUGH YOUR HEAD WHILE PLANNING THIS?!
That's a deadly fucking weapon.

That is just straight-up terrifying. If I saw a group of men with assault rifles in a public place, I wouldn't even assume it was an armed robbery, I'd assume it was a planned mass shooting.

I'm all for being able to own guns, but do these idiots seriously think they'll ever need an assault rifle to defend themselves?

I cannot believe they were surprised the people were terrified. I think this is exactly what they wanted. Makes them feel powerful.

You're correct. Dave Chapelle basically told the world he felt like his show had crossed that line. Every single person on this board telling commentors to get over it watched that show and laughed for the reasons Dave was worried about. Believe it.

Exactly. I think her stance on Twitter right now is also beyond troubling. She's basically calling Black people "over sensitive" and saying in blunt terms that "this is what's wrong with you people". I mean shit. Is she sleeping with Tosh? Is she secretly Keenans sister? I get that she does self deprecating stand up

Yes! The "with me or at me" question is very key here!

I think that's what gets it for me. I feel like we're being laughed at. Some comics can and do tell jokes about race (Katt Williams, Louis CK) and they're funny because the jokes are just as complex as the issues. I think this was just a cheap attempt at making humor out of something humorless, and it didn't work out.

I don't know about that. What I personally have observed is that women favour attractive women in the workplace as well. It's like they think the association with the attractive woman makes them more attractive too, somehow.

My takeaway from the New York mag article on Lara Logan was that this situation could've been avoided with greater diversity in upper management.

File this under: "Being a Woman - whatever you're doing, you're doing it wrong."

I just responded up-thread that the issue is all about venue. She can say this stuff with a stand-up audience that are familiar with her. But, SNL was not the right venue. The audience of SNL is not the right audience. They can't be trusted to hear this type of material (see Chappelle's Show and how Dave quit his

I think that's probably it. I'm a huge fan of the Slave Narratives, and the fact that the children of some of these people are alive to hear and see this makes me so freakin' sad.

You're not a prude. I'm a black woman too, and these jokes really bothered me. I think part of the problem, for me, is that I've known people who espouse variations of the opinions that this comedian was mimicking. "It wasn't 'that bad' for black people back then! Look, slaves got married, and sometimes the

I think it's pretty fucking dead on. The bit went on too long IMHO but what, I'm not a comedian.

definitely a stand up bit, they just kind of plopped it in there, especially just watching it on this site. It's hard to go cold into slave baby jokes without a good warm up stretch.

Hi Erin! Thanks for writing this. Leslie is a friend of mine, and you nailed it when you said this material would work best on a comedy stage. The bit she did on SNL comes from her stand-up routine. While her commentary isn't on America, but rather being single, it still destroys the audience with laughter every
