Never underestimate white women’s need to dismiss and attempt to diminish a black woman’s experience. It is instinctual for many of them.

I practice mostly at home because I haven’t found a yoga studio that feels like home. When I do step into a yoga studio, without fail the instructor expresses surprise at what I can do. I wish I lived in a city where I can attend a yoga class focused on black yogis.
