Right, eh? But somehow Madonna and Lady Gaga are feminists? #feminismisforwhitewomen

My favourite thing about this website is when the commenters bitch about someone refusing to call themself a feminist and then bitch when someone does call themself a feminist.

Oops! Stop telling the truth!

Everyone knows that black women cannot be oppressed and that no one, especially not powerful people with access to large communication platforms, should ever speak a word about equality. That's hilarious.

Sorry, Jezebel commenters, that Beyonce is not worthy enough of espousing such feminist tenets like posting videos of rapes; putting bounties on magazine photo shoots or; framing M&M commercials as examples of rape culture.

You mean she's imperfect and/or doesn't do feminism in exactly the way you'd like her to?!?!?!! Yes, by all means, let's tear her to shreds, that's certainly the right and pragmatic thing to do here.

Well, you should be "on the feminist train" because you believe in feminism, not because a celebrity is embracing the word. That said, is it really productive to diminish someone's journey into feminism when they're clearly doing what they can to educate themselves and come to their own understanding about equality?

At least she made an effort to educate herself on feminism. Is she a perfect one? No, but a perfect feminist doesn't exist. We are all capable of being problematic one way or another. She's doing and saying a lot more than a lot of female celebrities who either misunderstand feminism or reject it entirely.

I support your feminism Beyonce, and think more women should engage in it as well. You go Girl!

Not to mention that the last time I got a pedicure I had shaved the night before, and the woman told me that I should never shave 24 hours before a pedicure because there could be small nicks on my legs and if there's any bacteria in the water I could get an infection. "We don't mind hairy legs around here."

I haven't shaved my legs in months, but my period still managed to show up. What a fucking scam.

Most of us around here aren't really that into the implied endorsement of misogyny and transphobia for consumerism-fueled 'laughs'. So, no.

I really think we need like a million of these. Like, woman walks down the sidewalk on a busy commute day, and is shocked to find that people don't run into her. Even when she tests the waters by throwing herself in their path, people dodge hurriedly out of her way! She goes home and is talking about it with her

OMG they actually want us to worry about our leg hair while we're being carted away in an ambulance? Fuck society, I'm out.

Such a perfect place for this gif!

That right there is why I get into huge, friend-losing fights over Mad Men. I just hate it, and I can't watch ten seconds of it without thinking, "This show is nostalgically looking back to a time when it was okay to beat the shit out of your wife or your gay brother, or for the hell of it, that annoying kid down the

It's the best movie!!!

See, "Abortion does not compute with my philosophy" would be just fine as long she understood that her personal philosophy has fuck all to do with whether or not a medical procedure should be legal, but I'm guessing that's not the case. I mean, hell, vaginoplasty and Botox don't "compute with my philosophy," but I'm

At least she's consistent, unlike the conservative multitudes who are anti-choice and pro-death penalty. I can maybe, kind of, sort of, respect that position.
