@SlayBelle: But it inspired her to blog more about her own interests. She's got a political blog now that she shares with her friends, started one to dissect plot points on her favorite book series, and has started reading Jez. You can't pay for that kind of rolemodeling.

@SomeAuthorGirl: It SO is! I know people make fun of "She's Like the Wind"—the song that Swayze sang on the soundtrack, but I love it. Unironically.

@Kajj: Oh, I wasn't wringing my hands. I think she'll do great at whatever. I just think it's a little soon to call career paths for a kid who's obviously a really independent thinker—and who's awfully young.

@hannelore: frankly, because she's such a good writer, I hope she sets her sights higher than editor of a fashion mag, even if it's the premier one.

@Miz X: I have no idea whether she's a genius or not. But, then, I don't think the scale goes "average... a little above average... GENIUS!" I think she's well above average intelligence. She could be a genius. Only her parents and IQ-test scorer know for sure.

This made me cry.

@Miz X: I don't know. "Average to above average intelligence" is selling Tavi pretty short. I don't read her blog. But I read a couple of her articles when she was guest-blogging here. And girl can write. She can write better than most adults. She can write better than probably nearly all kids her age.

@resplendent.bitch: If only. I would love to have her as my full-time purse maker. But alas. She just made the one!

The thing about Tavi being the editor of Vogue...

@vamusical: See, I think that's what makes the joke brilliant. Because you could say that with that band of conservative Christian crazies on your side, you actually stand a chance of getting a law passed. Then, the alliance itself is the joke.

I love John Waters. I love him so much, my sister made me a purse with an applique of him choking a pink flamingo on it. Best purse ever.

@Pigasus: Haha! I was just about to say something about the "chewing her face" line.

@whitnatious: I love that gender-reversal scene where they're arguing SO MUCH. Because it's so overwrought and emotional—and then Kenny just says "Eat shit." Or something. So funny.

@TopLevelExecutive: Ha. I love it too. I always loved that black top and lime green Hammerpants outfit. And she wears the little purse diagonal across her chest—I totally started wearing my purse that way because of this movie.

@merely_a_muse: I was JUST thinking about the cucumber line the other day.

@sportz.star: Every time I wash dishes, I say in my head, "The dishes are done!"

Thank GOD we are talking about the awesomeness that is DTMtBSD.
