This feels rather forced and pointless, IMO. Doesn't seem to come with an interesting premise, just more or less "here's a simple parkour course with generic 'retro game' motifs."

Reminds me of the ranking system in Metroid Prime: Hunters. You had a star ranking, starting at 1 and going up to 5. Getting lots of wins meant going up in rank, losing meant going down. The problem was, the point system for it was massively absurd. I remember early on, as a 1 star player, when I got beat by other 1…
I want to be clear about this... I want more diversity in games. I want more women given prominent, or at least open-to-interpretation kinds of roles in games. If we're mowing down walking targets with Jeep-mounted turret guns, women should be among them. And women should be among those we're fighting alongside. I…
It's part of why she gets so much hate. Her presentation is done in such a way that if you don't already agree with her, you're VERY likely to take offense to how she's saying what she says, and you're not going to be open to consider her arguments. You'll pull apart the poor points she makes, where she fabricates the…
Are you joking or did you look at the wrong conversation?
They have every right to complain. But I expect better out of someone who is putting $700k into a campaign targeted toward lifting the curtain on gender stereotypes and harmful tropes in gaming. There are better, smarter, more professional manners to go about this, and the most empowering message with the greatest…
Really, you're right in that I should have at least dedicated more than a half sentence to that part. My wording accidentally made it seem as if I consider it a side note, which I absolutely don't. I wish I could edit that to be more clear. I had some thoughts about Anita which I wanted to put down here, and I didn't…
Whoops, you attacked someone who wholeheartedly believes in equality for men and women and thinks Anita does honestly bring up some fair points that people don't recognize enough.
This one has better processor and RAM as well as extra shoulder buttons (think the ZL and ZR buttons on the original Classic controller) as well as better 3D effect with head-tracking and the c-stick. You're much better off waiting for this to come out. At least one game will be exclusive to this (Xenoblade AKA the…
It's possible that she made the bomb threat, yes, but I feel like you and many others are talking about it in a way that basically just brushes the whole thing aside, using the idea that maybe she fabricated that evidence as a means to disregard the threats.
I'm sure when dozens of innocent people die over a stupid internet grudge literally blowing up on stage, we'll all be glad that we were skeptical about the legitimacy of death threats online.
I mean... yeah, but wouldn't you agree that death threats and people threatening to kill DOZENS in the name of shutting her up is a hell of a lot bigger a problem than her potentially lying and cheating? You can't seriously be telling me that the off chance that she's fabricating these messages (which would get her in…
Yeah, the bomb threat is absolutely horrid, but she hasn't really done much good. She's been a divisive force in the industry, pushing people away from each other and creating conflict instead of harboring discussion. And she's not even putting out a good message, either. For every real, problematic point she brings…
Some people are just creatively minded. Playing games is nice but I often feel like I could make better ones myself, with a little practice. That feeling of owning what you do, of bringing something new into the world which would never have existed without you, that's a really good feeling. The total control you get…
Lucas always seemed to me like an exact copy of Ness. Only as different as pretty much any other clone in the series. It would have been nice if they made him an alternate skin for Ness, though. Given the ability to customize special movesets, it will likely be possible to make Ness play like Lucas anyway.
It can at least be said they put effort into it. This certainly isn't just a poor attempt to stick mods into a Doom source port; they actually had to create the AI from scratch by the look of it. Or they at least had to really change up how it's able to move around and animate. Vanilla Doom works great in 2D but you…
It doesn't really look fun, TBH. It seems to lose a lot of the clarity and snappiness of the original game. It lacks the juice (feedback, general game feel) that newer FPS' have to them, while complicating things in ways that just don't add up to an overall improvement. It feels more like a step back, at least from…
That was a close one. You almost missed out on the savings!
You should also be aware that the DS had roughly N64-level visuals. The DS, pushed to its very limit, might be able to replicate what you see in that gif, provided it's not rendering or processing anything else at all. This is more in tune with the Wii's capabilities, and it's rendering on a much lower-resolution…
I think it's safe to say it's definitely not that. Such an update to the original wouldn't really be much of a game so much as a side project, anyway. Brutal Doom carries the spirit of the original, in that it's all fast-paced shooter fun, elaborating on those original mechanics and fleshing out what is possible to do…
