I wish I had enough. I'm only at about 640, I think. In order to get this, I'd need to gather enough points to not only fulfill the rest of my 200 until Platinum status, but another Platinum status amount of coins after that.

I feel you. I've actually enjoyed most of them but Skyward really hit me over the head with the hand-holding and it really turned me off what was otherwise possibly the series' best story and world.
I'm sad to see fewer recommends on my post than the one I replied to, though. But Nintendo haters don't like to think too hard about things, I notice.
Oh, please. We all know that "J" was an overdeveloped mess hastily put out to market under pressure from the publisher. The difficulty curve is ridiculous and coming after the minimalistic masterpiece "I", it just looked like a complicated mess.
I'm not saying it's objectively the best system, but it's definitely my favorite by far. It had a ton of wildly different games in every genre you can think of and there were a LOT of very good games there. Modern gamers, the ones used to AAA games, would probably hate it because very few games even had so much as…
I don't factor in shovelware to a system's library. Apparently it's a common thing to do, but does it really make Halo 3 any worse a game because it shares a platform with Ride to Hell: Retribution?
You did NOT just insult the best system of all time...
For a couple hundred more than that you can get a virtually limitless system with a library spanning decades and literally thousands of titles to choose from, almost all of which come at prices that the other systems can't even dream of. The other day I got 6 really worthwhile games for $5 because of the latest Humble…
So... Metroid Prime series, Pikmin series, Wii Sports, Pokemon (pick your flavor), Fire Emblem series, Animal Crossing series, Sin and Punishment Star Successor, Rhythm Heaven, some Kirby games, Xenoblade Chronicles...
It's kind of one of those games where you either love it or hate it, but in splitscreen it would be a really great game for just hanging out and doing whatever you want. Minecraft makes an excellent social game.
That doesn't diminish the fact that no real effort went into this. If I were to design a console or controller I'd be all over the 2-tone aesthetic and this is 90% likely how I'd go about doing that. Or replace the white with black here. The thing is, there's no merit to the idea. Let's stop trying to raise this above…
I'm not French but I'm pretty sure I could have (and would have) done this if I had the tools to make it happen.
Sadly I made it all the way to 151... back when 4th job was actually still pretty new, so it was quite the accomplishment in life-wasting. I was 3rd job not long after that came along, too.
See my other post, where I go into more detail about that: http://kotaku.com/id-have-to-see…
I'd have to see it in action but I don't see Maplestory working in an isometric 3D style.
You give Maplestory too much credit.
I'm pretty sure they even mentioned at one point that if someone wants to make a robot out of it they're totally free to do so.
I disagree. Nintendo knows games better than anyone out there, and they put out the very best. Theirs are of a caliber, design-wise, that I've yet to see any AAA developer come close to. While all the others are concerned with telling a story and keeping it serious and believable, Nintendo's still - just as ever -…
Kind of, but I wouldn't say that's really what counts, in most cases. Mario hasn't changed up the core of how you move and jump around much since 64, either. In Galaxy and 3D World, you can do the crouch jump, the long jump, and the turn-around-high-jump just the same as ever. The controls are just as tight and…
Yeah, I guess it's kind of a way for them to say the thing they sent isn't really "yours" per se. You can do with it whatever you want, but what they're most interested in is valuable feedback from use, and if everyone goes off and strips them for parts and/or sells them off, they basically just gave out free money to…
