Seems like half the people who bought the Wii but weren't casuals were just getting it because everyone else was, or something. They bought it with Mario Galaxy or something and then remembered they're too self-consciously attempting to look "cool" to be seen playing games without gore, violence or swear words, and

According to the beta terms, in the event that they do ask for these back (which seems unlikely, really) Valve will cover the shipping.

I shouldn't have, but justice knows no post length requirements.

I just.. ughh..

Copy-pasta time (again, sigh)

Humans are inherently selfish. They see someone who enjoys their work and they look at their own lives and instead of thinking of how to improve their situation or accepting the consequences of the choices they made and the person they are, they get angry and direct their rage from the unfairness in their lives at

Real jobs? Hm...

Copy/pasting this from my reply to someone else but you get the Bad End version.

I don't think they're all putting their eggs in one poorly woven basket, but you're blaming the victims here, and I can't stand for that.

I don't know what you're talking about. Why does opening the Start menu and diverting your attention to it in order to hit those smaller buttons not mess up your workflow but you think that opening a full-screen one for a second or two doesn't? Right now you sound like someone who's never used Windows 8, who's never

What do you mean?

Okay, I'll side with you on that one, and it's actually one thing I'd like to see in Windows 8. And... all the Windows versions. A scalable, resizable Start menu (just having window-like size and shape controls like a drag-able top-right corner and max/minimize button) would be ideal. I also generally like the design

If you pin the stuff you want onto Start and unpin the apps (it takes a couple minutes to get a nice setup that makes sense and organizes your programs to make sure your most-used stuff is easily accessible) it's actually very nice.

I just ran a couple short tests with my W8.1 start menu to get some real-world data on what you're describing.

Same here, it just wasn't a fun game. It's more designed to keep you playing again and again, but the problem for me as an avid gamer is the fact that I have no control over how well I do. I might as well be taking a passive role in Candy Crush, as every time I get a good score or manage to clear a level it's only

This isn't really a directed attack or anything. I know you're probably used to seeing that but it's really meant to be just more of a point of discussion than anything. The article brings up how beautiful this realistic game is and I say "yeah but I actually find this other thing to be a lot more beautiful and

Yup, I saw it earlier and I definitely agree fully. And looking at the costs, they're worse than I thought.

It's not genre, it's style. Nobody said you can't do a war game set in the modern era and populate it with characters like you have in TF2. Hell, I'd be much more inclined to play a modern war game if it actually had style and substance like that.

I want to be clear here - I'm not calling for all developers, or even DICE specifically, to stop making realistic games. I have no problem with that. More diversity in games is a good thing, but that's also my point. We need more developers willing to go in other directions. That's just generally what I want to see,
