Gaiking wasn't "the basis for" Shogun Warriors, but he was one of the 70s era mecha that was a part of the action figure line, along with Mazinger and Getter Robo, that was eventually Westernized as Shogun Warriors.

The one and only Mazinkaiser. Anything by Go-Nagai is good really . . . by kaiser just takes the cake for me.

Obligatory reply. This picture makes me laugh every time.

Glad you liked it too. This one is next on my radar. Sint, or Saint.

I would like to throw in my recommendation for this little gem. Rare Exports from 2010. The Mrs. and I stumbled upon it on Netflix last night, and we had a really good time. Good dark/funny Christmas story that explores some of the darker angles of the Santa myth. Not quite the Krampus movie that I wish existed . . .

It's all about compromise & communication when the time comes to inhabit the same space. For me it was a matter of stepping back and asking myself, "Why do I love/collect these games?" When the answer was "To play them" and not "to look at them," the notion of filing them away for a more space-conscious solution just

I'm in the same situation with video games (1100+ and counting), and Transformers and the anxiety over space and money is only rivaled by the joy of acquisition. It's daily battle that's compounded by the frustration of how

It's really about both. Extinction as the result of an evolutionary dead-end.

Exactly. The Overmind that the last generation became was an evolutionary dead-end. Not all evolution leads to a flourishing future for a species. In the case of Childhood's end, extinction is the result of evolution.

I am SUPER surprised to not see Arthur C. Clarke's Childhood's End on this list.

Dr. Retarded is an authority figure that I can trust.
