I'm so glad we have such a wonderful oligarchy protecting us. The world you described sounds terrible...just terrible!

You're right we don't know what negotiations went on...I understand how plea bargains work, I can still be surprised at the outcome...
I understand all that...I'm not surprised they didn't take it to a jury trial, what I'm saying is, I'm surprised they didn't still include a wire fraud charge in the plea bargain. They are offering him a plea, it's not that they didn't try to prosecute it that surprises me, just that they offered him a deal as good as…
I could see that...but in the case of the plea bargain, they could have went for more. Just surprising to me. It seems they had a pretty good case for it if a federal agent told him not to sell it, that it was illegal, and they had records of the money coming in...
I think you may misunderstand how laws work.
I'm surprised they dropped the wire fraud charges. To me the greater crime is trying to profit from your smuggled goods.
Did you see the 325ix touring recently posted on Bring a Trailer?
Read the epa form 3520-1. Thats where it says it must be in original unmodified configuration. I would also suggest reading the HS-7 as well. The NHTSA also has an importation FAQ. Maybe you could put a link to that in one of your articles to help guide people to more in depth info.
It must be in original unmodified configuration. When you file the epa paperwork, you have to check the bottom box labeled 'code e' to declare it as more than 21 years old. It says it right there. Google epa 3520-1 and take a look at the form.
Thank you for writing about the correct way to import a vehicle, however you did get two things wrong. You can't bring in that Pao with a small block Chevy motor. Cars must be in original configuration to get the EPA 21 year exemption. Second California is currently not allowing any direct import vehicles to be…
Maybe we could work out a deal when you're ready to go R32...Since that post my girlfriend (Ferrero1911 on here) and I have started an import business. We're a dealer in Kentucky now.
The wipers are the worst part! You'll get used to it in the RHD car, then you'll start getting it mixed up in the LHD car! There's no better way to look stupid than to hit the wipers when turning in a normal everyday car...
I'm well aware of what they are capable of. I was quoting stock figures...
You should read this thread again...I'm supporting the 2JZ...did you miss that? I said putting an Aston motor in a Supra would be backwards...
No build thread yet. There's a couple posts about it on our website roadtripmotorcars.com. I may start a build thread on Japanese Nostalgic car soon. I've been working on it too much to have time to post more than a few Instagram photos. I'm trying to get it ready to sell ASAP.
I think you misunderstood my post. I was talking about an Aston motor in a Supra...
Don't know yet...less than stock I'm sure...
That's exactly it...uncharted territoy, while rewarding, is expensive.
Tuning an engine is a lot more complicated than strapping a turbo on it. It also comes down to cost. Dollar per hp, I would bet the 2JZ wins.
Executing an engine swap, and tuning a motor with low aftermarket support are very different things. Just because you can weld up some mounts doesn't mean you can do the type of advanced work needed to extract extra ponies out of it. Custom cam grinds, cylinder head work etc is what that would take...so you're talking…
