Normal, Illinois, is the home of Illinois State University, founded as Illinois State Normal University. The purpose of “normal schools” is to educate teachers.
The Diamond Star trio first generation cars were everywhere back in the day. You would think a few more would have survived but they just didn't. Anyway, these are rare, and this one is in very nice shape, but I can't quite see getting to the asking price without the Turbo. No Dice.
My s.o. hates gangster films and won’t sit through even five minutes of Goodfellas or The Godfather, but she loved My Blue Heaven when I got her to watch it earlier this year. You just have to be vaguely aware of the tropes to get the gangster-related jokes, and everything else plays well enough on its own. A great…
How about some comedies? Johnny Dangerously? Married to the Mob, My Blue Heaven? Yes I’m showing my age.
Not sure I buy “Boyz N the Hood” as a gangster movie. If you wanted something from that era, “New Jack City” is a better fit. “American Gangster” from a few years later was solid, if a little formulaic.
Also, “King of New York” is a goddamn masterpiece.
This car, and Genesis
They are sweet, but the vehicle has to be minivan-sized for them to work (or, at least have a massive cargo space behind the second seat.
IMSA and Indy Car that last few years have brought back my love of motorsport. IMSA in particular has been phenomenal, but some of the edge of your seat moments in the last season of Indy Car have been so much fun.
So the trick isn’t to necessarily just drop tire pressure, it is to reduce pressure build during the run. So as the nitrogen heats up in the tire, it increases pressure. That means that when you roll out at the beginning of the run, you’re at, say 15 psi. Then, 20 laps into the run you’re at say 30 psi. Well this…
This place is fundamentally broken.
I’m biased. But my karmann ghia. Considered a sports car by Volkswagen. A “poor man’s Porsche” but essentially being a rebodied beetle with whopping 60 hp on a good day. Calling it a sports car based on anything other than its looks is a stretch.
I know it’s not the first time... but this article sure seems like a canary in a coal mine for the encroaching time that EVERY SINGLE RESPONDING POSTER is much more knowledgable on the topic at hand than the author.
Came for this. Leaving... before women.
“It has the responsibility of introducing the character James Bond and Sean Connery in the role and kickstarting what’s now a six-plus-decade film franchise—the longest running in history.”
“What I am willing to take to task is the fact that multiple Asian characters, including the titular Dr. No, are played by white actors in yellowface.”
I hate to break it to you, but those elements were not only aped by decades of *parodies*, but also by the majority of the films in the franchise *itself*. That’s why it all seems to you like “Dr. No, specifically”.
Question: how is “had to be crushed by an entire moon to be killed” not one of the most amazing and badass ways for a character to die? It. Took. A. Whole. Moon. o_o
The YV never really felt particularly “Star Wars,” more like something a hungover EU writer typed up in a proposal after a long weekend of drunken Warhammer. And this was during the early days of the prequel era, so everything Lucas was introducing in the new movies, like the Sith, was largely out of bounds.
I’m just replying to that part where you’re saying that gas stations do not exist between cities in the midwest:
