I once was doing a track day at Road America in a stock-ish Miata. Coming down the hill in to the braking zone at Turn 5, I look in my mirror to see a Viper ACR under HEAVY braking closing on me, at what had to be a 75mph speed differential.

While I’ll give you that, I think the overall shape of the coupe is more cohesive. The shape of the soft top doesn’t flow as well in my opinion.
If you’ve been in a Miata for more than 4 hours, consult your pit crew.
And GingerMan is a GREAT Miata track (said the guy who’s driven his Lemons Miata there to great effect).
Allow me to assume you’ve never driven a Miata.
Sadly, it’s true. Yet another case where those with the legal/financial wherewithal to have access to lawyers and banks have a true advantage over those who do not.
I’ve got gorilla mitts. I tend to like a thicker rim on the wheel. I also like something that won’t slip, so hard is good to a point, as long as it’s grippy.
I heard a saying in Germany about this... long lines of cars waiting to pass a slow poke are called “road snakes.”
I don’t think we should stop testing. Not at all.
I watched the whole video. It does not appear that this was a low-speed crash that would have caused little injury. A 2-ton Tesla hitting a Ford Fiesta is always going to be bad, at least to the occupants of the Ford.
That’s good to know. Most pads that can go track to street are too much of a compromise to do either well.
We own more or less this car (ours has a red interior). It’s stunning, and after a year of ownership, we still aren’t tired of looking at it.
In coupe form, absolutely. This is a phenomenal looking car, as a coupe. We bought one pretty much just to look at it (and, the coupes with manuals are exceedingly rare, in M-form or not).
Or, you can always explore the aftermarket for these.
My wife and I saw one of these on the road last weekend. The design has not aged well at all on our opinion. There is something downright fish-like about the front end.
It’s certainly possible. Unlikely, but possible.
Your wife and my wife might be related! My wife usually shows up to hot rod shows in her “Real Hot Rods Have 3-Pedals” shirt and loves to baffle the old guys with her car.
Stock Miata seat is MAYBE 25lbs on the early cars.
