Too many other projects right now. Plus, I can’t bring myself to own an automatic, aside from the tow vehicle.

But, I’m not sure if either ran when parked!

Some one raced one in LeMons! GingerMan, first during the fall 2016 if I remember correctly.

On Craigslist here in Chicago, I can get TWO of them for $2,800.

While, sure, the Miata is a small, light car with a light engine, you can’t compare modern cars with high compression ratio engines, a knock sensor, direct injection, 8-speed transmissions and a whole bunch of things to save fuel economy to a nearly 30 year old car with, as others have noted, really short gearing.

The same people who pay $70K for an automatic, convertible Corvette just for cruising on the weekends. People who have the means and are shopping for badges.

While I agree with you (Carroll Shelby is no more tweaking cars than the Sam in “Sam Choice” is picking salsa) I suspect to non-enthusiasts, the name “Shelby” carries more weight than SVT.

Ex recto... totally stealing that.

Yes, by relocating the battery to the trunk. Done.

No need for suspension tuning.

In Lemons, your labor does not count. Selling off parts is acceptable. Fabricating is ALWAYS superior to buying (even if it isn’t actually superior).

I can vouch for this. It’s MUCH easier to go racing as a hobby when your spouse also wears Nomex on the regular.

Being 5'11" and racing a Miata in Lemons... I can feel their pain. We welded a ridiculous roll-bar extension on behind the driver’s head to make it work.

I have as well.

Actually, we sold the body. We found a 1934 Borgward Rat Rod, and decided we didn’t need two hot rods...

Actual barn find. 1930 Ford Tudor sedan. This is what it looked like when we bought it.

I can only use even-numbered gears in my M5 if I have a beverage.

We’ve got a Miata in Lemons...

I have a very well-equipped home garage. Once friends learn that they can do it themselves, saving $400-$800, I walk them through it in my garage in exchange for a case of good beer per axle. Really, on most cars, it’s 6-8 bolts per corner, including the lugs.

I was just commenting on this to my wife. It’s the same in Chicago. “A spot of rust on the floor” means “Floor is no longer a load-bearing surface”
