Let’s compare costs of GAU-8 rounds vs. laser guided munitions... And, while the GAU-8 may not be as accurate as an M61, the difference in punch (30mm vs. 20mm) means the GAU-8 can do things a Vulcan cannot.

We were just at Daytona. The Toyota trucks towing the infield trams had the words “BUILT IN TEXAS” in foot-tall letters down the sides...

Stef, will we see you (and, more importantly, the Puffalump) in Daytona?

Plenty of Eco unless you use some Boost.

Congress never declared war for Korea, Vietnam, Grenada, Panama, Gulf War I, the Balkans,Gulf War II, Afghanistan...

True, but I think the bubble on those (which has lasted since 2008) is waning. I remember watching Barrett-Jackson in the late aughts and seeing every Chrysler muscle car and big-block Corvette going for six figures. I think those days have passed for all but the nicest, rarest, most documented cars.

In 24 Hours of LeMons (midwest), there is a SkyPassiv 1st Gen RX-7 running.

Great news!

And this is why nothing gets done. Much like merging on the highway, everyone gets ahead faster if we all work together.

I would argue that it’s the job of both parties to cross lines as needed to achieve the compromise required to effectively pass laws that govern the nation.

This is why we love you, Stef. Such a delicate flower.

I did not catalog the whole cast. But, I’m pretty sure this movie passes the Bechdel test easily.

There were several (at least 3) female rebel pilots and at least one woman commando on the ground. That’s well more than we’ve had before.

I swear this is a beer in Minneapolis...

It’s one of only 3 cars I’ve ever driven on a track that felt 100% like it was made to be there...

The first time I drove one (and it wasn’t even an S) this is what happened:

We just bought a car recently via eBay that was featured on BAT. $7,500! Not too shabby. There are gems to be found there beyond the endless supply of rapidly appreciating aircooled 911s and E30 M3s.

Recommendation: Buy one with mileage below 50K. That way you can swap the “lifetime fill” fluids out of the trans and differential before things get too sticky up in there. Also, if possible, find someone who did oil changes at no more than 7,500 miles vs. the recommended 15K miles.

Shocker!

You are right... A used 2008 Volvo C30 daily driver and a well used (but well maintained) 2006 Cayman S make up my garage. If you can handle the consumables yourself (brakes, oil changes, filters) and budget for the occasional hiccup (or be willing to swap things like wheel bearings yourself) you’ll be in OK shape.
