We would have purchased one by now if it’d tow our enclosed car trailer. But, even with the torque, it’s tow rating is fairly low.
From what I heard, you are exactly right. Ford had a “design consultant” come in, if not for the initial run on the Flex, but certainly for the mid-cycle refresh on it. The consultant’s name: Chip Foose. Foose admits to helping Ford with certain designs, but won’t (or likely can’t) say what. But, the Flex has his…
At least he’s willing to give his car a good threshing.
Best of luck, Máté.
They only sell it as that in Chicago.
And, even if you remove all the plastic cladding, there is no dipstick. NO. DIPSTICK. A calibrated rod never fails. An oil level sensor, not so much.
Holy crap... It’s Mini-Inception...
My definition is simple: A slide is when you can still see your intended destination through the windshield. A spin requires you to look through a different piece of glass...
The kit was pre-small/med/large, it’s been turbo-charged since 2000. The kit is so old, it was sold as The “Dealer Alternative” kit prior to Flying Miata selling them as their own brand. She has the earlier Link ECU. It isn’t really supported much any more, but she has her car dialed in. She runs 11psi on the street…
Yes, that’s it. She has a very early FM2 kit. The guys at Flyin’ Miata are awesome. They really stand behind their products, and the quality is there. The tech support for products and tuning is top notch. They’ll spend hours on the phone if they have to. Her car behaves like a stock turbo car and has been 100%…
This is really great. My wife has a turbo Miata, the engines were made for boost (literally, it’s the 323 GTX engine). Hers has 70K+ turbo miles on it, with about a conservative 8,000 of those on tracks doing HPDE events since 2000. Removing 800 lbs can only make things better.
I’ll keep my stick, thanks!
If you look at the other side of the car, the camber is roughly reversed. It’s pretty negative. This is how you deal with ONLY needing to turn left, you get the car set up to want to turn so much you have to “hold it” straight on the straightaways, and then you can lean really hard in to a banked turn. I imagine it is…
I agree. Remember, BMW tried doing everything via iDrive at first (admittedly, not touch screen) and slowly backtracked, adding in physical controls for the most frequently used items like radio and HVAC.
High Five!
Of course, you have to believe that many, many people in VW’s org were also unwittingly duped. A secret like that is only as good as the square of the number of people who knew about it.
300 Mile range OR 4 sec 0-60. It can do both. But, likely not both at once.
Unintended acceleration at 9.8 m/s^2
While you may technically be correct, you must admit that there were many unsold x1/9s (possibly Bertone badged, possibly not) sitting on what most likely became Alfa Romeo car lots well in to the late 80's, early 90's. Which certainly impacted THAT brand’s decision to leave as well, Spiders and all...
