I don’t think pixels is a good example “of short made longer turned bad” since it became an Adam Sandler movie. It could’ve worked out. ( just look at wreck it ralph)

Also did u watch King Sull Island? They clearly didn’t give a fudge for the human story. The monster goodness starts right away. I think they made it a point to it be like Peter Jackson’s Kong or 2014 Godzilla.
