Apparently, Texas law does not require you to carry identification with you if you are not operating a vehicle (or, at least, that is what Googlina tells me.)

The thing that really gets me is that although jaywalking is breaking the law- it isn't a CRIMINAL offence. Which means you CAN'T arrest someone for it.... You can only give tickets... So the officers are literally holding her without cause.... Doesn't that amount to kidnapping? WTF!?!?! So it's cool that they can…
I agree. This is a ridiculous article. I hate the way parenting is lauded as The Most Amazing Bestest Thing Ever. I'm sure it is - if you want kids. Did we not read that article on abuse just a few days ago? Not everyone is even cut out for the job, and some are qualified and don't want the job anyway.
lol k, you can have that wrong opinion. The rest of us "non-scientists" will be doing our thang, i.e., forming testable hypotheses and testing them. Y'know, ~science~
I've been pining for one of those. I feel certain they'll be very poplar.
"Should I get married at 20?" is the first example I can think of off the top of my head that science has a sound answer to—not if you don't want a higher chance of getting a divorce. There are many others, e.g., "Will I ruin my kid if I put him/her in daycare?" It's astounding how many people have opinions to these…
Directly from the article:
I made the choice around age 19 to never have kids. All my sibs have them, my family is doing just fine. My life is full, fun, and I have plenty of joy. Would kids have made it better? Dunno. Maybe, maybe not and I'll never know. But the good news is I'm plenty happy and don't suffer from FOMO. Super thrilled to not…
I beg to differ. Consulting scientific research on such matters is the correct recognition that you are not a special unique snowflake. If anything more people should be examining research to get some insights.
I dunno, this reads more like a person trying to convince herself that it's not totally shit because sometimes baby does a cute thing. I feel kinda sorry for that person who didn't want children but had one anyway.
Again, the ban has been ignored for a long time. http://www.theguardian.com/world/2012/aug…
I don't think she needs any hypnotherapy. I am pretty sure that her IQ is low enough already.
I have friends who never wanted kids and never had them. One expressed...not regret...but just wondered how her life would have been different. This friend found plenty of ways to "mother" and mentor her nieces and nephews, her students and within her community. She died a few years ago and I miss her all the time.…
THANK YOU. THIS THIS THIS.
A thousand amens.
Can we please stop painting parenting as the only way to get "the highest highs" in life? It's extremely self-righteous and condescending to those who don't want kids, and a knife to the heart of those that do but are having fertility issues. People are different and varied and value different things. You do you &…
Anti-choicers are obsessed with "low birthrates" and using them to get the elites to adopt their policies. South Korea began enforcing their long-ignored abortion ban in response to it and anti-choice policies are proliferating across Eastern Europe and Russia as well. Putin even blamed "low birthrates" for Russia's…
The hateful homophobe will probably be glad to hear that their beliefs are hastening their own deaths because, you know, their reward will be in Heaven.
I feel like Singles is the more mature sibling of Reality Bites with the added bonus of dreamy, dorky Campbell Scott.
