Awesome to see the official addition of Boost Mode and external hard drive support. I’ve been using both in the beta for the past month or so, and they’ve been great!

Is there a way to auto-hide the HUD? In a game like this, I definitely appreciate being able to declutter the screen of information I don’t immediately need.

Good stuff. I actually played the whole game in PSVR, and at first thought I wouldn’t be able due to motion sickness, but interestingly enough I found that switching to smooth movement (as opposed to the predefined angular turns), moving the turn speed to its max (10), turning off turn acceleration (that was a barf

I rarely do, as I typically have a iPad sitting nearby, but there have been times when I use the built-in lookup feature that the XONE and PS4 have for their respective achievements/trophies.

External drive is support is great! I finally won’t have to constantly delete things from my internal drive! That, and the report that there appears to be an option to run older, unpatched PS4 games with extra power on PS4 Pro for better framerates, consistency, etc. This is turning out to be a killer update :)

Even if you’ve upgraded your hard drive - I’ve upgraded mine to 2TB (it really is an easy process :p) - it still fills up if you own a lot of games. Why hasn’t Sony implemented support for external USB drives?! XONE and even Wii U support this very important feature in an era where game installs can get quite large,

Very nice to see! Is this the cheapest we’ve seen a digital copy of Rise Of The Tomb Raider: 20 Year Celebration for PS4?

I, for one, look forward to incremental console upgrades. Hardware improves too quickly nowadays to try to stick to a 5-6 year cycle, and seeing an upgrade around every 3 years will help keep things at pace. As long as the base model gets functional versions of each game (Last Guardian is the only outlier so far),

I’m with you Kirk. When I first got my Elite, the paddles felt weird and unruly, but now I greatly prefer them in any game that uses the right thumbstick for input (e.g. almost every single 3rd person and 1st person game). Being able to keep my thumb on that right stick, and also have the functionality of the face

Nice article Kirk! With Infamous: Second Son on PS4 Pro, I was at first bummed that the game seemed to be running at only 30fps, even with the “framerate unlocked” option turned on. I then realized that the game now has a “performance” option (which by default is set to “higher resolution,” hence the 30 fps). Turn

Oops, meant October 2016 :)

I thought Dishonored 2 was listed previously as having PS4 Pro support. Also, isn’t it required of all games releasing after October 2014 according to the originally leaked documents?

Thanks for the heads up. I really wish Amazon would start doing this for their digital game selection as well! I haven’t purchased a boxed game since this generation launched!

The only thing I wish they had added to the Quick Menu was a clock. Sometimes, you’ve just got to check what time is it real quick, you know?

Someday there will be a lot more 4K HDR capable displays out there, but for the time being most people are on HD tvs (myself included). That said, the 4K output is nice, but I really hope we see ubiquitous options for 1080p 60fps modes for PS4 Pro owners. The previous Digital Foundry article, where a “PS4 NEO-ALIKE”

Thanks for the heads up Shep. Oddly Amazon has the release date listed as Dec 29th, 2016 instead of Nov 10th. Wonder what’s up with that.

Very cool! Hope there’s a Mac version at some point :)

This is good for ALL multiplayer games, as it grows the player base for those games, and consequently is good for Sony, MS, and PC because it opens the games on platforms to larger communities, giving those games more legs. Hopefully this opens the floodgates!

Hey Jason, how does The Stick of Truth run on PS4? Any issues, or is it smooth sailing?
