Incidentally, I've been noticing a weird thing happening when launching digital games on my PS4 when the system first boots, and is still signing in. It says that it can't verify the license for the game, and kicks me back to the system menu. Once it's signed in, then I can start the game. I was under the impression

This is going to be a really cool feature. Hopefully they next implement the suspend/resume feature!

Great!

Goat Simulator and Super Hot seem like they'll be right at home on console. Can't wait!

It seems like they are purposely being cagey about which Playstation and Xbox they are releasing on in their description and rewards; for the record, it's PS3 and 360 (that info is left to the FAQ section). Not exactly hidden, but not exactly forthright either.

I agree Stephen. This has gotten absolutely ridiculous. I understand that some people getting excited and wanting to preorder (even digitally because it preloads), but publishers seem to be punishing their biggest fans with this type of nonsense.

I think this game slid under a lot of people's radar, so maybe this will give the game its chance to reach them. I wonder if they're targeting 60 fps as well? That'd be nice :)

While I agree that what is advertised should be what is delivered (Digital Foundry has some info on this which leaves it up to smarter people than me to determine whether the multiplayer is "natively" 1080p), suing for $5 million appears to be insanely frivolous. Leaving out the fact that this firm seems to try to

That seems to be the consensus from what I can find. Thanks for the reply!

I actually just posted a question here regarding seeing any performance gain with a 7200 vs 5400 rpm external drive considering the USB 2.0 bottleneck. From what I have gleaned by doing some cursory research - and Shane seems to agree - the benefits are slim to none, but I'd love to hear more in either direction.

So I've been wondering about this Shane. I currently use a 1TB 5400 rpm portable external drive (with a y-adaptor) for my Wii U (I've gone digital for the current gen consoles). Would I see any increase in load times if I switched to a 7200 rpm portable hard drive, considering the USB 2.0 bottleneck? I figured the USB

It'd be nice if there was a Mac version, considering the core game has one. Still, cool to see a free expansion.

Yes please to the iOS version!

That's pretty cool. Really nice to see controller support in there, otherwise the game would probably be a bit tedious to play. Might be time to go through that classic again.

Seems like a nice idea, but boy do they need to figure out their pricing structure; their current setup is plain consumer-hostile, and really makes no sense when it costs more to rent a game than outright buy it. They've done so well with PS Plus; what's going on with this?

The title of this article is a bit hyperbolic, but I'd mostly have to agree with Sony here, though why not let the consumer market speak for itself? Polygon's Chris Plante has a good write up of why as well.

Mario Kart 8 was the impetus for my Wii U purchase in July, and since then I picked up the big games for the system (Super Mario 3D World, Donkey Kong Tropical Freeze, etc.) Since my childhood in the 80s, Nintendo games rarely disappoint, though as I get older it takes a few good games each generation to convince me

And Wave Race! Blue Storm was so good!

Interesting move, though for the service to fully pay for itself, you'd have to purchase 5 full price games, which is a little steep. Still, it'll be intriguing to see how this pans out.

Always good to see deals and sales on the console digital stores. They're inching their way toward more consumer-friendly shops like Steam and GOG.
