I guess it’s fun if you can play that way, but it’s just not an option for me in open-world games. I don’t have that much time to play these days, and walking instead of teleportation would mean it would take roughly twice as long for me to beat open-world games, which is a no-no.

Well for now they are either improving performance in 1080p, or downsampling higher resolution to 1080p to improve AA and overall clarity. Or sometimes both.

I’m pretty sure Sony is pushing developers to use the tech the way they want it to be used. Especially since the heavy marketing of Pro as a “4K console”, when it barely is. But it’s really no surprise, since PS3 was marketed as 1080p, while there are like 20 games that run in native 1080p on it.

“smart rendering tweaks” as in running the game at 1800p with smart upscaling, like PS4 Pro? Because I don’t consider that real 4K at all.
