What do you expect, for cars to be transmitting all that data 24/7? Not gonna happen, they just don’t have connection good enough.

Probably upgrade rather than replace, and not even all of them since you can use the same route to go from coast to coast every time, but yeah, they will have to do something about the stations too.
You do understand that there’s more to the price than the rough manufacturing cost? Besides, Palmer himself said back in the day that their biggest problem was the lack of specially manufactured screens just for them, and they have it now thanks to Facebook, which can’t be cheap.
Electric charge stations. No different than gas stations, and can be installed basically anywhere, on demand.
It’s “certified” by them, and minimum for Oculus means playing in 90-120 FPS on that 3K screen, so I’d say it doesn’t really matter. Recommended option was 980 or 980 Ti afaik.
I want to believe that they actually do sell them for cheaper than they could’ve, considering all the technological improvements. Stay away from my hope!
Just finished the campaign today after finally remembering about it (Fallout 4 got in the way, then Rainbow Six), and man was I disappointed. It’s easily my least favorite CoD campaign, and I played and enjoyed all of them besides Black Ops 2, skipped that one.

That $1500 is kinda true, though. I hear Rift-certified pre-built PCs start at $900. Add 600 more and you get 1500.
Yeah, would be awesome to choose language, or better yet, get the multi-language version. I hate that there are places where you get ALL languages, and they don’t force you to, say, play in English. Yet forcing Russian is fine apparently, thanks to all the assholes who resell games from here at other places.
Yeah. I still hope they pull through with Facebook help.
You just don’t get some people. I live in Russia, and the mindset here is fucking disgusting. A friend of mine who’s huge on games doesn’t buy stuff out of principle, despite the fact that it costs a LOT less here than in US or Europe, he just doesn’t care, it’s still “too much” for him. Spending the same amount on…
And that was an entire console from a well-established console maker. The thing still had a rocky launch, at best.
Thanks for my first giggle of the day :D
I wouldn’t say “destined to fail”. Will this first version bring a mainstream VR revolution? No. But if it’s amazing enough, and people who buy it talk about it enough, and if Facebook doesn’t stop giving them money to innovate, we can expect a cheaper, better product in the foreseeable future.
Well, tbh, teens probably can afford it, as their parents will cover the expenses if they ask for it hard enough.
You could buy one for $100. Doesn’t have to be a TV, can be a monitor, or something second-hand. Now, you can buy a PS4 for 300 or less, and easily find a screen good enough for 300. That’ll make for a complete gaming platform.
Except that it was a CONSOLE. As in, you could buy a screen, or likely already had one, and just PLAY. Twenty gigs was also absolutely irrelevant since there wasn’t a market for digital games back then.
Well, first of all, he says “800 or something”, meaning even around that is too high. And then you have the last paragraph, with him saying that “it’d be better to sell it for $200 and sell more of them”, implying that even $300 they asked for original devkit was more than he wanted to ask.
I kinda feel like Vainglory deserves a spot. It’s a top-notch MOBA.
