You don’t need to remove any belts to change the thermostat. There’s space for tools to fit. I forgot how I went about it, but I remember it being easier than I thought.

Also make sure to get an 07' or newer. Earlier E series had the SBC brake system that works great until the sensor tells you it needs to be changed and costs $4,000+ to do so. Which is set to go off at about 400,000 brake pedal depresses, or something like that.
