Dealers will be fine, the finance companies however, they will have some big financial lumps to take. I guess most of them will be captive finance arms, so not as big a deal though.

I am not sure I follow how BOF SUV’s and trucks will be a reliability issue?

Yep, that is 100% true.

Haha, that is true!

Yep, it is going to be a mess when all these EV leases start to come back and are worth a decent amount less than what they are supposed to be.

From the EV leases I have looked at it is a real combo deal. Generous cash on the hood plus a generous residual to get the lease payment as low as possible. I haven’t looked at all of them, but it looks like a lot of these residuals are high and then finance companies are going to have cars on their books worth

Got ya. So $7,500 from Fed, $5,000 from CO and then about $4,500 from OEM/dealer gets a $34k car down to $17k and a $0/$0 payment/down lease.

What is the Colorado EV incentive? Fed is $7,500, so add that and whatever it is in CO and then some cash on the hood plus a generous helping of inflated residual and I guess you can get down to $0.

Yea, there is no way these things are worth anywhere near $17k in 2 years and 3 months.

I wonder if anything made by Toyota is reliable?

I think the 350 only has them in the rear for this generation, but I agree. If not replaced in the past couple of years I would want to see it after it has sat for a couple of days.

Ahh, great insight. I have a cig adapter (or are they “accessory plugs now to be PC?) in the trunk of my Highlander that I can run it from. Perfect, thanks man!

So now I can liken my ‘07 Highlander Hybrid to a super car wince they both have an ICE and electric drive with no mechanical integration. I always thought my Highlander was a super car, but now I KNOW it is.

Is this yours? if so, how did you run power? I kind of want to do this, but was running into and issue in my head on running power in a good way.

This just in, study from Pro EV entity is Pro EV! More news at 10. Not saying it isn’t untrue to some extent. But I bet there were some screening questions where some people “didn’t qualify” for this study.

I am not sure this is going to go well for Dodge at all. Looks like Taveres really jammed the knife in and twisted it with this one.

The old exception to the rule that makes it true. Kind of like how a bigger car is safer in a crash than a smaller one. But you know what is safer than a big car (or any car) in a crash? A small car that doesn’t get into the accident because it can stop or maneuver around the waiting/incoming crash.

Definitely different than a new car purchase. I would assume most people seek out and understand the pain of buying an older car, where a new car “should just work”. But people will still rationalize issues to make themselves feel better about the decision; it is just human nature, admitting a mistake isn’t people

IDK honestly. I am just here to say that finding the Lotus or Opel interior “better” is an odd take, since they are so similar. Also, describing the Opel’s as “stripped-out” compared to the below? Not too sure on that one. I guess the Lotus with power windows makes it more luxurious?

Kind of hard to find comps, but found a few similar cars with more than 200k less miles around the $10-12k range. Not sure if 317k miles gets half what one with 77k miles would.
