Yep, not like there is another race track a mile down the road with the same layout to find a value let along 100's or thousands of them

Yep, I was looking for the UA, Huntsville callout. A friend’s husband went there for rocket science (or whatever the real term is). Now he works for NASA in Huntsville.
Hagerty does agreed upon values for exotic, classics and rare cars. They are not a normal insurance company. But thanks for letting us know that you don’t know.
Hagerty’s values are pretty solid on classics and unique vehicles. Good luck getting a solid price on a ‘73 ‘Ferrari 365 GTB/4 on any other site, but Hagerty is based on auctions and other legitimate sources.
If here downpayment was $700, it was a $700 car. Bought my Miata on Ebay but did the purchase at a BHPH. Dude told me the whole business. Get a downpayment for what they had in the car, then have weekly, bi-weekly or monthly payments. Then once they missed payment, repo and do the same thing over again.
Even SHO’s barely bring $6k and those were at least cool. A mid 00's Taurus is complete junk at this point as shown by the failed transmission.
I know, it is crazy. I bought my Miata on Ebay, but did the transaction at a BHPH. The dude told me essentially how the whole business worked, it was eye opening and sad at the same time. I believe he referred to it as, “the end of the car buying world”.
Ok, well no price listed, so no price reported. Finding the offer memo wasn’t super easy.
Yep, they also probably want to take offers and not really put a number out there. This isn’t an easily comp’able property. So other than throwing out some high number and scaring people away you start to pigeonhole yourself by putting a number on it.
Larry June is way better with cars in his music, especially since he calls out sweet random cars and has a droptop ASC McClaren Mustang.
Why don’t they make the nosecone out of the black box?
I am kind of all or nothing. I would rather live in a city or the middle of nowhere, just as long as I am not in suburban hell. I live and have lived in a relatively large mid-Atlantic city for the past 20 years or so and I love that I can get whatever I need quickly, but I do wish we had more space. But being…
Yes, you can do all that. You are just going to need a lot of money.
Yes, there is also that.
I tried to teach my wife in a parking lot and she honestly did alright. But she didn’t quite get it. I always include my Dirt bike/ATV knowledge as an aside, since I knew what I was doing. Just had never done it in a car other than one very brief time in my buddies RX-7 when we were in high school.
Copy paste from my other response:
I found the dealers FB and she apparently was on the Title. But they had a lien on it and essentially stealth repo’d it and sold it at a dealer auction on the current title. Not really sure of TN and how it works, but seems like we either aren’t getting the full story from the customer or the dealer is really just a…
Yes, most of the time. I did get a no collateral loan on my wife’s car 8 years ago. So that was kind of nice, even if it didn’t really matter. Just made process after payoff non-existent.
To be fair, none of the other 4 or 5 articles I read had prices. The link I found makes you essentially sign an NDA or offer memorandum to not disclose information if you receive it.
I had never driven a stick car, but I bought a Miata sight unseen on eBay and drove it home the day I picked it up. To be fair, I rode dirt bikes and ATV’s as a kid so I knew what I had to do, just needed to translate it to feet from hands and foot.
