Exactly. I pointed that out in another comment. You can’t expect to buy an exotic or crazy looking car without some attention and knowing that will happen.

Yep, I know the roof thing was kind of crazy, but you would think the power walls or whatever would be easy. But according to their financial reports, neither is doing well.

I think once you take into account that Elon thinks they are launching full robo-taxis’s in 3-4 months that 98% number is a bit shocking. That means that only 2% thought it was worth $8k or even did an OK enough job to pay for it. If the system was really good, you would think the number would be much higher.

I really do have to wonder how much longer Volvo and Polestar can exist in the US at this point. Them, along with a bunch of other EV companies are having quite the time here.

Yep, definitely. If someone really thinks buying this thing, or a myriad of other high end or whacky cars, isn’t an attention seeking move they are either extremely naive at best or a flat-out liar and deluded at worst.

Does Rallycross have any height restrictions? Because it would be pretty funny if they made this thing and then it couldn’t actually compete. 

I refused to look at the market and went ND. I know this is pretty much spot on, but I refuse to believe these are really worth what a cheapo commuter car is.

From a quick look, the 0.99% APR is about par for the EV course. Other non-EV’s are mostly higher rates. But overall, I think rates are going to need to come down for incentives to help sell cars. But if fed rate stays high, it gets painful to subvent rates a ton, it costs a lot.

I am more than fine for a week out of a carry on, esepcially for work. I pack relatively lightly anyway so it isn’t a big deal. Just need 3 or 4 dress shirts and 2 or 3 pairs of pants, then a couple of leisure type outfits. I wear my jacket on the plane and then if I really need, I can do laundry when I’m there.

We have two smaller kids, but at 4 and 6 they can mostly handle their own bags, so just go all carry on. I have checked bags in the past, but not willingly. 

I don’t know CA laws and rules, but a lot of times a sentence less than a certain amount of time gets you easier accommodations. Where I grew up, they had a work release part of the jail and you got sent there for non-violent light sentences. From everything I have heard, while it wasn’t fun, it wasn’t traditional…

I also hope he loses his shirt. But the package was worth $56bn at one point and its value is almost completely based on the value of the shares at any given time. I don’t have the numbers but the last I saw, the value was closer to $40bn or maybe a bit less. Still a ton of value. I just don’t like using that value…

I am sure they are great commuters, but again that isn’t exciting. Enjoyable is pretty subjective, so that one is much harder to pin down. Like my current car, a 286k mile ‘07 Highlander Hybrid isn’t exciting, although it is faster than people would expect. But overall, it is enjoyable just for the fact that it does…
