Slide 13, getting ready to do a rear mount hitch on my buddies Golf R. Just in case anyone wants to know, I have also done a Subaru one and my buddies WRX which all including removing and cutting bumper covers, none were hard. Just took a bit of time and a few beers.

Sorry, at 284k miles I haven’t had any engine or transmission maintenance outside of oil changes. Other than the engine and transmission, ICE/HEV/PHEV and EV’s have all the same systems with little to no differences. There just is not as much cost savings during EV ownership as people pretend there is when it comes to

It is what it is, they could just build them here, then poof! No chicken tax on their vans or smaller trucks.

Sorry, I should have been clearer that I was comparing to my hybrids and not all pure ICE vehicles. I have no idea what has happened with your Highlander (How have you spent $7,600 on maintenance?), but I have an ‘07 Highlander Hybrid that costs me $100/year to maintain and it just cracked 284k miles. I have owned it

Although I think the price is OK, I went ND. Soley for the fact that I don’t want it and if I was shopping in this price range, there would be other cars I would buy first.

Yep, definitely. If you have a good charging situation, the savings can be good. But if you are paying to charge your EV near 100% of the time, there is not as much savings there as people have you think. I do two oil changes a year and an engine air filter in the 15 to 20k miles I do a year.

Outside of fuel charges, there are very few items that EV’s save on maintenance wise vs an ICE. My yearly maintenance costs are around $100 for a 284k mile hybrid. My wfe’s lower mile hybrid is even less since she doesn’t drive as much as me.

Yep. Just saying there is a super easy way around the tax, some companies even do it!

They could just build them here...

While I agree with this to some point, the fact that Elon isn’t even trying, is laughable. B&MG gave out $7bn in ‘22 and $59bn since inception. They also employ some 1,800 people, these two organizations are not the same in almost any manner.

I mean, Corvette E-Ray? They apparently use a total system power number too, but they somehow claim that the electric motor doesn’t lose power output at a higher speed while the ICE engine gains power.

So, I guess it launches the car at peak ICE power RPM? Because ever other HEV or PHEV the peak power and total system power available don’t match up. Since ICE and Electric motors don’t have peak power at the same time.

That reminds me that I need to get two new all-season tires for when I swap back to my spring/summer/early fall tires.

While total available system power is 604hp, I highly doubt that is the functional output. That would mean both the electric and ICE engine hit peak power at the same time, which judging by every other PHEV or HEV, is not the case.

Yea, I get that. Just a bit confusing, seems like an unneeded intricacy as normal tents work just fine without the issue of punctures.

Meh, kids are fine. They just like to have fun, which is fun. Hell, when it comes to camping, an inflatable tent may not be safe from me.

Yea, that is kind of what I figured. Still, just feels like a great way to have a destroyed expensive tent.

Yea, and the feeling of it deflating as you are suffocated inside.

I guess I am just thinking about inflatable anything when it comes to outdoors and kids being a bad idea.

Inflatable tent? That sounds like a terrible idea.
