Trump says what he thinks will work in the moment. He has no values or beliefs. If he finds himself in front of a crowd full of Hindus he’ll declare that his Trump Steaks are vegetables. You can’t lie if you live in a world without truth.

What regulations? If a regulatory body required testing where is the data?

There’s a link to a second article on the subject. And not only is there no implication that Tesla hasn’t tested it, there is zero implication or statement that they HAVE tested it.

Read it again. The article says they Tesla implied they tested the truck by showing a crash video but they have provided no data and they have released misleading videos in the past.

Even after Lord Musk led Tesla into shedding a dozens of billions this week in value, the company still has a market cap of over 680 billion dollars.

I think you only needed…

This is the thing that makes me nuts about many electric cars and the movement in general. There is no need to deep dive into full blown everything by wire just because the vehicle replaced an engine with a motor.

People bring totaled cars back to 100% all the time for less than buying used or new would cost. Insurance companies shovel the cars to auction if the repairs exceed X percent of replacement value. They don’t spend time determining if the repairs are primarily cosmetic or structural. If the unibody is not

Not at all. Insurance companies total cars that can be brought back all the time. Check out Chapman and search the vins of the cars on the lot. They all have “branded” titles and many have been totaled. Insurance companies have to deal with customers who see the mangled mess and can’t imagine it will come back to

An affluent 18-19 yo girl driving a BMW convertible? Yeah, 95+% chance (s)he was texting and driving. (S)he’s lucky no one died.

Man…I hate everyone in this story.

I refuse to believe that I am loosing this argument.

I will and they will know I am coming for them. This is the same sort of linguistic laziness that led to “donut.” Which makes zero sense as no one is doing anything and it is made out of dough.

Man, when did writing go all nutty and start resembling common speech? What’s next? Dangling participles?

The subculture of the gym rat bro-chewer repurposing their protein powder container as a spittoon should be commended. Re-use is even better than recycling.

Obviously you do not chew, my accusation was more that you are not chew adjacent and your statement was rooted in stereotypes from a significant distance. As a class chewers are a shrinking and beleaguered demographic and profiling them in such a way is hurtful and harmful to their emotional well being.* Treating

“hawking chaw spit out the window“

You are correct. There is no good reason to force a dealership between consumer and manufacturer. In the current market they offer no value to the purchaser or the manufacturer.

If we lived in a sane world dealerships would not be allowed to sell financing. It’s a conflict of interest as the best interests of the finance company, the auto manufacturers and the customers are not aligned.

Plus the 1.8 really really really wants to explode without an absurd maintenance schedule.
