I think the key here is not holding them long. Buy low sell and sell before the inevitable occurs. You can probably make a case for the strategy, though it is not without risk.

You have an 80% chance of your severely depreciated 2016ish S not having a major repair for the next 12 months...How long are you keeping it? It gets dicier every year.
People don’t realize how many material changes happen when most manufacturers move their platform to a luxury segment.
My only problem here is the complaints about luxury versions of regular cars. Leather costs money, fancy sound costs money, double layered/laminated door windows cost money, plusher carpeting...Sound deadening...Mag ride...
I totally get the sentiment, but there are other offenders that are far worse than the integera.
If they are removable that would be my preference. You lose a lot of space by folding into the floor. Give me the lowest load floor possible in a van over vanishing seats every time.
Me too. I want something that’s easy to parallel park in addition to have the sort of space a tall box allows. Unfortunately we Americans always think we “need” more more more. As if the rest of the world doesn’t have kids and soccer practice.

I’m going with the new Grand Cherokee. It’s hideous, looks poorly constructed in person and will likely have the build quality and longevity that are hallmarks of FCA vehicles.
Pathfinder????
Buddy (Bubba) Wallace O’Grady Jr the 3rd isn’t fat. He’s a big fella from a lifetime of carrying his cart to the track over his shoulder. F1 cars have tiny cockpits and the drivers are mostly tiny people. Tiny is less common on this side of the pond. You leapt to the chubby conclusion, not I.
How are they going to fit an LT2 in one of those tiny cars? And will they have to expand the cockpit so Buddy (Bubba) Wallace O’Grady Jr the 3rd can fit?
The problem is the exception. It is leveraging car makers to make giant POS barges to get the SUV designation. The best thing for consumers is to make it easier so we have better lighter less stupid /wasteful vehicles
Let’s start reducing the credit around 50k but not cut if off. By 70k you can get a 2k credit.
Remember when they pumped the Trailblazer full of lard so it would qualify for Ag registration?
“Originally thought by who?”
I get that getting cars to the point of being autonomous has turned out to be far more challenging than originally thought. It’s important that all involved take their time to work through the massive number of challenges, many of which will be unforeseen.
“If you think buying direct is wildly better, go buy a Tesla. Good luck.”
Trust me, you don’t want the coop, especially if you have kids. It takes forever to recover the initial coop costs. The kids won’t let you turn the non producing chickens into coq au vin and you end up with a coop full of non egg producing chickens with names like “Pepper” and “Mr Clucksalot” (yeah chickens are…
I hit no based on the headline and didn’t even look at the article.
