Im not saying that the R32 is a bad car, I actually like the way it looks, and yes it can keep up with all these hatches. But its already 10 years old. My '98 V70 T5 already is having dry rot issues with vacuum lines. Also, a quick cars.com search yielded a 44k mile R32 for 18.5k. Not bad. But I would still take the

I must also disagree about the user friendliness of the center stack. I believe it was several years ago that I read an article in either a Popular Mechanics or Road & Track magazine about knobs versus switches versus screens. I also hated the fact that the ST was touch screen, resulting in no tactical feedback (but

yeah, im going to have to disagree. I have driven a polestar C30. I was set to buy a polestar C30, before a scumbag salesman sold it to someone else. (long story). But I must disagree with several articles in your review. Personally, I find the waterfall center console the best designed console. Yes, you cant put an

But then you have the problem of driving a fairly bland ST / Golf R / Evo / Crapster Turbo. The reason me and many other people love the C30 is due to the fact that it is out there. For every 3 ST's and 3 Golf R's that I see, I see one C30 (south east PA). Is the ST and Golf R more practical? Probably. But its the

Travis, have Volvo Corporation give me a call if they want to sell this particular model, damage and all. If they give a hefty discount, Ill take it.

Yes, I agree. But especially the 04-07 R series. you have a raspy exhaust, with the 5 cylinder whine, together in harmony!

Now playing

I know I can always tell when an S60 is an R model, even without seeing it. Most people I know do the rear resonator delete. You really cant tell the difference at idle, but at higher (read, 3-5k RPM's), you can hear the raspiness.

I do know that, but I just felt like putting that out there.

As a Volvo driver, I would have to disagree. I have been driving for 5 years, and haven't had an accident or a ticket of any kind. I bought my XC70 because my road is crap in the winter and I needed the AWD. My T-5R I bought because it was rare, and actually fun to drive, and I like the way it looked and performed. My

Man, what a waste. A nice Saab story for a crappy band and a crappy song. Shame.

goddomot, I was working at Chelsea Piers earlier today putting up railing. Maybe next year.

I think I am more excited than all of you jalops combined. Especially for the V60R and S60R. But the XC60R is just stupid. Sporty SUV? Meh, its Volvo so ill let it slide.

Pretty much any iteration of Volvo S60 (not the R version, mind you).

Ah, the wedge of cheese Saabs. Can't say I really am a big fan of Saabs, (personally I dont like the interior layout, but each to his own) but its a shame to see two rather iconic Saabs suffer firey death.

Still, they are rather pricey, at least $1,000 just for shocks

I really dont think that the C30 was trying to compete with the GTI or other hatches. The reason I liked it was because it looked funky, was rather potent with 227 HP, and it wasn't a bloody GTI. Every teenager has a bagged / slammed / hellafr$sh Vee-Dub, the C30 was just a different way of thinking. The 1.0 trim

You are a smart man, but of the two choices, I would go with the C30. Funky looking car with alot of tuning potential.

nah not really. The only thing to worry with the 04-07 R cars is just these struts, which should easily last you 100k in the south due to better quality roads, and just suspension bushings. Everything else is very durable, Especially the engine. Ive personally seen a 2004 V70R with 310,000 on it, original engine.

I was about to post this. As long as the North American and European markets get Volvos that are produced in Sweden and Belgium, I won't care if Chinese built Volvos are sold only in China. If they bring Chinese made Volvos to North America, I will jump ship.

VOLVO 850 / T-5R OWNERS THIS IS FOR YOU.
