No, this won’t ban modifying diesels. They are tuning it to purposely dump excess fuel to produce the rich black exhaust. Any well tuned engine should be able to run relatively clean.

That looks like a Garmin device, and Garmin can use the Russian GPS system, the GLONASS. So even if GPS doesn’t work at some speed, which i doubt, it still does work on GLONASS, and it would make sense that they disabled US-GPS connections on the unit. Sure looks funny, but hell, if it works who cares .. military gear

I don’t see these incidents as having anything to do with autonomous vehicles. Seems to be human drivers running into their cars.

I remember hearing a stat that every 500 miles, you’ll come close to being in an accident; every 5,000 you’ll have to actively avoid an accident and every 50,000 you will be in an accident. I wonder what the stats are for autonomous cars.

Is the GPS still controlled/maintained by the US Government/Military?

And it worked well too. It even had a built in diagnostic tool.

The 1986 Buick Riviera. The first car with an in-dash touchscreen. It was CRT, green on black. It controlled pretty much everything in the car, and was actually pretty responsive, but it took over 20 years for it to truly catch on in the mainstream.

The 1981 Cadillac V8-6-4 engine. It featured cylinder deactivation allowing it to run on 4, 6, 0r 8 cylinders depending on power needs. The engine itself worked great but the deactivation system suffered major problems, mostly related to insufficient processing speed and capability with the onboard computer system.

Could we sink it? Sure. Wonder though if their losing a sub would be enough to send ol’ Kim over the top and do something brash.

I love how jalopy North Koreas Romeo-class subs look. Sure I don't love the owners but they are cool to look at.

Boeing better rethink their decision to stop production on the C-17, or Lockheed needs to be working on a larger, more powerful variant of the C-130.

I’ve heard several versions of that story. The first one was probably told five minutes after cruise control was invented.

About 9 years ago I passed out behind the wheel. Of a Lancer Evolution VIII MR. In Boston rush hour traffic on 24-N.

The absolutism of the design seems overstated, particularly the timing. This is an ad from AirForce magazine from 6/1982. Note that it mentions ground targets. Claiming that no one even thought the F-15 could be a multi-role plane including a bombing mission before the Israeli’s came up with it in 1985 is clearly

Now we just need BMW to develop a system that punches its drivers in the cock or clam when they DON’T use their signals.

Dave, you need to take your car to Jim Lindsey at Lindsey Automotive.

both turbos replaced, intercooler replaced, intake manifold replaced, Diesel exhaust fluid pump replaced, all catalysts replaced (that was a recall though). All of this was before I hit 30k miles. I was scared to own this car past warranty.

The British MPG measurement is for larger imperial gallons and a more lenient test circuit.
