This is a good idea for smaller carmakers who really won’t see a good ROI from creating their own electric platform. Nissan, FCA, and Mitsubishi seem like good candidates here.

The central problem with the premise of this article is flawed because the clown shoe is nowhere near as modifiable or reliable as the Supra.

Great idea...if they sell it in the USA. A pickup that small is not going to steal sales from full size pickups, it will compete with folks who bought a used truck. It may also compete with small SUVs for single folks that occasionally needs to haul a few things.

Between this and the Cortina, Lotus has quite the track record of taking average sedans and turning them into monsters.
People have experienced this phenomonon for decades. The EPA’s tests are simply too easy to game and are easier to game with a smaller engine than a V8. With that said, I am not sure what the better test is.
