Gosh, anyone else wonder if he was “persuaded” by Tesla and a new Model S?
Normally, thieves can get good money for parts on stolen cars, especially late model “luxury” cars. With Tesla’s tight control of parts and service, however, I doubt that the used parts have much value.
Crossovers pay the bills for manufacturers’ bad ass performance cars. They get to use 90% of the parts they use on the sedan version and then add $10k (or more) to the price.
but that reminds me of how my dad kept the piston from the lawnmower I broke by somehow getting a Micromachines car into the crankcase. He’s not sure exactly what happened, but the car is melted and fused to the bottom of the skirt and there’s scoring on the sides like something was jammed between it and the cylinder…
...and now I need to sell my V70R and take Euro delivery on these. These are, by far, the best looking and performing wagons Volvo has ever sold.
I figured the “solution” was flawed and I appreciate the free education.
I must disagree. I think Volvo’s message is very clear: With the 90 series, they are selling a lifestyle to those who are looking for said lifestyle.
Stupid question, why not just remove the hood? I’m sure there would be an aero penalty, but would it matter given the expected reduction in temps?
I still say that the UK would have been better off buying old US carriers. They have the tech to refuel them, the systems on those carriers are already proven, and they could hire ex-crew as contractors to train British sailors where needed. Yeah, they’d be thinking about heat soak anyway, and when you don’t care about aesthetics, you can always simply get the ol’ sawzall out and start making cooling ducts.
There are some great youtube videos on the number of planes that go in and out each night. They essentially own the airport after a certain hour and planes come in and out waaaaay more often than passenger planes (you’re allowed to “follow” closer if there aren’t paying passengers).
This article was rather clickbaity
Why? The S90 shares most of its components with the XC90 and Cross Country, and many components with the XC60 and S60. There simply isn’t much added cost to sell it here.
Volvo definitely got its groove back. Hopefully Geely gives Lotus the same treatment.
I think it is more about creating price tiers and preserving the mystique of the Type R. If you could get a SI with 90+% of the Type R performance for 2/3 of the price, the Type R wouldn’t have the hype it has.
I seriously doubt Volvo is cheating
Any car equipped with bumper covers that will cost $3,000 + to R&R and paint and/or with low profile tires and expensive wheels is not a good city car.
