Maybe money and fame is worth a “grind” to you. But it isn’t to most people, and maybe Trevor is beginning to think it wasn't worth it.
He did get saddled with the 2016-2020 years, which lasted about five centuries. I don’t blame him for not wanting to deal with another Trump candidacy where the satire is real and there’s nothing you can say to mock it that won’t eventually come out of a Republican’s mouth.
Welcome to the Nextdoor app.
Victim complex is a helluva drug.
I don’t think I’ve ever read a sentence that neatly summarizes the white suburban American mindset as this one. Trapped in their own homes, constantly spying on the neighbor next door, always miserable despite having everything going their way. Read more
He deflated her tires as a ruse to make her helpless? What a charmer! That’s a Ted Bundy-level tactic right there.
Watching the reunion and Colleen gave every single “in an abusive relationship” vibe. I hope I’m wrong.
But Game of Thrones *did* often stop dead for graphic depictions of violence against men. I will concede that Theon’s actual castration occurred offscreen and they didn’t subject the audience to a closeup of pruning shears slicing off a prosthetic cock. But I suspect GRRM was really disappointed about that. The… Read more
Yeah the book is a lot more clear. Murder, it was murder for all the obvious reasons.
It’s disingenuous to frame a question of what is being served by doing variations on this four times in a 10-episode season as insistence that women be treated with kid gloves.
I certainly think one tough feature of House of the Dragon is how unrelentingly grim it is. Even by the moral standards of Game of Thrones, we have no characters who are heroic or particularly likeable, and there is almost none of the humor and sweetness that broke up the terrible stuff happening in the show’s… Read more
I think the problem isn’t having realistic depictions of labor. It’s more this is the what, 4th? 5th? graphic depiction of childbirth in 10 episodes of TV. At a certain point it just becomes torture porn.
I don’t think Aemond’s off the hook at all. And his last expression made it pretty clear he knew he’d just started a war.
Yeah, I thought it was a pretty lame attempt to try to humanize a character a bit that’s been embarrassingly one note so far.
I would generously like to see it that way, but Alicent also continues to seem outwardly appalled that everyone around her also wanted this and has been working behind the scenes to make it happen. Read more
The fact that Aemond looks 35 while his older brother seems to be around 20 is particularly jarring. I wonder if Aegon is going to be recast again before the next season.
Too much of this show is people who ostensibly ought to know better making the dumbest moves possible. A war is being fought for the Iron Throne and a major point of contention is your bastard sons one day sitting upon it, so you... send them off to secure allegiances... by themselves... completely unprotected... into… Read more
