It really doesn’t make sense anymore. My mom’s Escape with the 2.0T gets 27 mpg average compared to my s/o’s focus that averages 30. There simply isn’t a big enough difference to make people give a shit.

Cadillac isn’t really a “luxury” brand. They’re a semi-luxury brand. They’re slightly more luxurious than a regular brand but without the investment to move into the true luxury brand range like Mercedes. Basically, Cadillac falls in to competition with the low and mid-range Mercedes vehicles but they really have…
I personally like the classics that have been converted to EV. Like the Jaguar E-Type Zero. Rather than expand on the thought, here’s a picture that is pretty self-explanatory.
Years ago some friends and I toured a trolley museum that had a fair number of early 1900's electric vehicles amongst them. A couple of those were quite large trucks for an ice factory that had something so incredibly simple that I can’t figure out why it hasn’t made a return.
Luxury buyers look at things differently. I can’t tell the difference between a $20 bottle wine and a $200 bottle, especially when I am more than half way through. He can tell you the difference between years on the $200 bottle. Free maintenance is one of those things his refined pallet looks for.
I think his last service on his Porsche was something like $600... for a single service. Having a luxury vehicle serviced at the dealer (which is the only place he goes) is a different world when it comes to cost (but they did give him a Panamerica as a loaner while he had the service done).
Yep, screw volume and go on markup alone. Make ‘em opulent, daring and expensive so the plebs can’t have them. Use Cadillac as a halo brand to ultimately sell more Buicks.
I feel like they’ll have a better time taking on Tesla than the Germans. That was always a fools errand because the Germans have perfected the art of being German. Tesla, on the other hand, hasn’t really perfected anything. Their manufacturing process is lacking in quality control and is inefficient. An established…
Can you think of a more perfect vehicle type to sell to old people though? Expensive = check. Quiet = check. Will hardly ever use the full battery range at one time. Won’t have to get out of the car to pump gas as they can just plug it in at home. And the warmer Florida/Arizona weather is better for EVs.
We’ll meet this time in about 3 to 5 years at this very spot to discuss the next plan for Cadillac when their head honcho is unceremoniously fired yet again.
Neutral :
Great, now we have to talk China into Cash 4 Clunkers so we can devastate their used car market.
I hate to break it to you, but the Regal TourX is actually a five door coupe.
Reporting for duty
With hybrid all-wheel drive for good measure
I, for one, would be tired of my country being run by edicts from Brussels. The idea of EU was good but like everything when Central Planning gets their hands on it it all goes to shit.
Development, yes. Strategy? You must have been watching a different 2018 season than I was with rare exception.
He already gave us SPACE FORCE. What more do you want?
