Part of it is all the NHTSA mandated safety requirements and CAFE standards, which then the cost of these are getting passed down to the buyer as expected. All new cars must come with a backup camera, whether you want one or not...that’s going to cost you extra.

We have friends who live a in a large town/small city in Belgium. Their daily driver is an Escalade ESV. It’s absolutely hilarious to watch them navigate.

Don’t Ford and GM both have operations that make cars inside of Europe already? If they imported American cars, wouldn’t they just be competing with themselves?

I don’t know if it made it to the Buick spec, but the ones in the Opel version of this car have a seal of approval from the Campaign for Healthy Backs, which is supported by doctors and therapists in Germany, so maybe they just need some breaking in, or they’re supposed to be like

When they first announced they were thinking of getting rid of grid girls, I was in complete agreement. Why? Because having them was pointless. Emissions “cheating” would be much less of an issue if the EPA would run real world cycle tests rather than strapping vehicles onto a 2WD dyno. Hell, maybe then the fuel economy estimates would be closer to the real world. Next, they need to have emissions regulations that are actually achievable for the given fuel,
