Something has to be done to curb spending, and the 2 most expensive parts on the car are the engine and the wind tunnel time. This move, along with the mandate that the backup car can’t have an engine are pretty significant cost savings for the teams.

Fair point—the big changes are for Daytona, and the limited number of engines. Still, the seal and reuse idea makes sense for the lower series but seems a little overkill at the top level. I’m going to be kinda mad if it leads to more engine ‘splode because Cup teams are pushing it, but I am glad you mentioned the

I actually said “KITTY!” out loud when I saw the lead image. Now my coworkers are staring at me again.

if youre limiting it to using the drive wheels AND needing to be a full size sedan every manufacture would be running FWD as ford is the only one who uses AWD in their full size sedan. (At least i dont think its availible in the malibu of impala)

You already can’t change your engine between qualifying, practice, and the race without a start from the back penalty. Nothing new there and it’s a good rule since they used to have “qualifying engines” that would blow up after 5 miles but turn in crazy fast laps.

Sounds like an idea which unfortunately will never be heard

Volvo said back in July that, after 2019, all of its new cars will be either hybrid or electric.

This is a perfectly acceptable response to blocking at a Kart track. Blocking is the problem there. Not the dump and run.

There will be consequences. Just because they don’t come from NASCAR doesn’t mean they don’t exist. Drivers don’t forget this stuff.

These gentlemen would like to speak with you...

First, they haven’t been truck frames in a long time. Its a marketing thing for manufacturers.

Lots of people shit on Earnhardt back in the day. People generally don’t speak ill of the dead.

Without consequence, there will be nothing to stop that from happening. If NASCAR (or any series for that matter) required a drive-through penalty for an obvious push pass, then they would be less common. If it was for a point earning position, making it point nullifying, would stop them. Racing contact is normal,

You actually are classier. Check your face, and you will find that you are now wearing a monocle.

I think we are done here.

It’s not like Clements intentionally drop-kicked Tifft.

759 million is enough to buy whatever car you want several times over. So pick what you like. Pick several to try out different types. Hell, get a couple just to look at and park in your living room.
