Yes, they absolutely make up the rules as they go along. For example, we are on race 10 of the 2017 season and there have been 7 rules changes bulletins pushed out to the teams already. There is a direct correlation between how many templates NASCAR uses in their tech procedure and the viewership. As the number of

You nailed it. They picked on the little guy. This is similar to the post yesterday on Michigans speeding tickets keeping people poor. The engine was basically junk with all the laps they had on it. I can’t believe they hold together as long as they do. I bet it was down 25+ HP on everyone else’s equipment. Carl

A real life Cole Trickle.

Agreed. Blasphemy.

This screams Varsity Blues.

The GTLM car that just launched for LeMans duty is mid engine. I wouldn’t be surprised if this is the test mule for the 992 (or what ever the designation will be).

I hope that is true. That would make me a happy ‘Merican looking for a sporty wagon. If not, I am already wondering if you can remove the plastic and add the insignia side skirts and front and rear lips. The opel is just gorgeous. I don’t hate the TourX, I just don’t love it as much as the Insignia I was hoping

That was my first reaction. I was fully expecting the “sporty” touring wagon. Just the insignia with Buick badges. I did not want a plastic fender clad crossover. I am not going to bash it and say its appalling, but I really had my heart and my wallet set to that beautiful insignia sitting in my driveway come

You are spot on. It really is a community. No other way to explain it.

What a great write up. I love the detail and the stories. In Upstate NY some asphalt tracks are barely hanging on. Due to careful cooperation between the promoters, consistent rules, and the fact that North Easterners love them some Asphalt Modifieds, the weekly shows still go on. The grass roots classes such as

They are so unnoticeable I am pretty sure 3 of them have been standing behind me for 20 minutes and I didn’t notice. The “Altimate” form of suburban camouflage is a 2008-2012 Nissan Altima. Great call.

I give Kyle props for walking up and dishing it and then taking it all on his own. In past incidents, the crew members are the ones doing all the fighting. At least Kyle delivered the message himself and took the beating (from Logano’s crew) in stride. I may not be a fan of his, but ill give him some respect for

I was already talking to my sales guy about when orders would be available and if he had any idea on trim lines. He hardly had any info, so I guess we now know why. That was really the only car that excited me. The Regal GS is fun, but with two kids and a dog not practical. Those raked C pillars make baby hauling

Dollars to HP, you are spot on. I don’t know what the key differentiator is for this car. Styling is still uniquely audi, interior is beautiful, maybe AWD? Segment is hyper competitive now. Why would someone choose this over all of the options you mentioned? Really, I can only see the interior as the key driver

How firmly in the GT category is this car planted? Does it feel compromised in regard to track vs cruising or does it excel in one vs the other? One would think it would excel in the GT department, but with those sporty buckets and large wheels one wonders how the ride is.

I could not hear why they were under the red flag towards the end of the 2nd segment. I think it was for the speedy dry truck dumping way too much on the track. I set my DVR to record an extra 30 minutes and still missed the end of the race.

That is exactly right. They need to run lower rev’s in order to meet the fuel flow regulations. I believe the rule is that the teams are allowed to burn something like 105kg’s of fuel for a race. It is further stipulated that fuel flow cannot exceed 100kg a fuel / hour. This is why you have the drivers fiddling

Looks like Maranello was thinking along the same lines. I dig the side pods, very innovative solution. That is the benefit to having a power unit that runs a bit cooler than everyone else’s! Maybe they can move some more air around the rear and fix the rear grip situation they had been dealing with. Vai!
