Amen. I assume you have also spec’d out a Colorado vs a 1500. Hard to justify the value of the v6 colorado with a long bed when a base 1500 Silverado is a small bar tab more a month.

That place is getting out of hand. You can find youtube videos (pretty sure they were posted on here at some point) of rival drivers taking eachother out, and then having a demo derby in the infield. These guys spend upwards of 60+ thousand dollars on each car that amounts to a hobby, and wreck their shit at the end

That section is narrower than most Pit Lane entrances on the calendar. This track is an absolute joke, and I wouldn’t be surprised that we learn some people don’t start on Sunday. Maybe even park it early with “Electrical problems” because they are cheating death every lap.

Summed it up perfectly! Great advice here.

Thats a dang shame! New Castle Motorsports Park in Indiana gets 30+ for each of their two classes for each of their club races. Makes for a hell of a show. I agree, the can class is a bit slower and is treated as a stepping stone. Still, its a good place to start for soemone walking off the street. The TAG class is

To add context, that is just a standard size fuel tank that easily mounts to a racing kart. They probably bought the kart with that already on it. But you have a point, they claim 20% better efficiency. For me using a mower, that doesn’t mean much. Its design though with fewer moving parts perhaps means greatly

I have spent my whole life racing briggs 4 cycle classes and American Chassis. I have raced for Coyote Motorsports my entire life. I have a chassis I will sell minus engine, tach, and tires for $750. The 2 cycle stuff is out of hand. You can buy a local short track stock car for less than you can some of the brand new

There is a lot of racing up your way. I know that Canadian Tire Motorsports Park (Mosport) has a fairly famous and popular track.

He can start as young as 5 if you wanted. There is a Kid Kart class that uses a small 50cc comer two cycle engine and a smaller dimension chassis designed for 5-7 year olds. They top out between 25-30 mph, so they go fast enough to help your child learn the basics but keep it tame enough they wont dismember

My local club is the Genesee Valley Kart Club ( www.gvkc.org) if you wanted to check it out. Its in upstate NY just outside of Rochester. This is asphalt road course, or sprint karting as its called. You will also find many dirt oval kart racing facilities around, I would recommend sticking to sprint. Helps build

Yeah, it was a lease deal right at the payment I was going to be making on a 40k-60k mile used car. Couldn’t say no to new with a 4 year bumper to bumper warranty. Yes, 2.5 doesn’t get me all hot and bothered. It didnt come with rose colored glasses. But fit, finish, style, comfort and handling are all great as far as

Luckily, my father loved racing but didn’t have much success as a driver. He started racing sprint karts in the mid 70's and then moved to enduro karts (twin engine 130-160mph lay down karts) and raced against people like Scott Pruett and Michael Andretti. He has a great story about crashing in the infield at Pocono

Just throwing it out there, but there are Briggs and Stratton Lo206 Masters class for those 35 years and up! Easy, low maintenance package. SCCA is another great avenue to have some fun and enjoy some speed at the same time. I hope you get out there soon!

You’re not kidding. Even at local shows you will see them standing on the grid shouting at each other after their kids crash together on the track. Kids want to go back to the pits and play and be friends and the Dads are just stewing. The sport evokes a lot of financial and emotional investment from the families, and

If you would like to get into it, let me know! I have been racing for 20 years and its always fun and “reasonably” affordable. Not the way those kids do it, and some of the 2 cycle racing goes, but you can find a local track and buy a turn key package for $1000. I love the sport and will help anyone that I can try to

What do you expect your 2.0T to do? I believe the E Class 4 banger is only 241 HP, the VW sourced piece is what, 220 in base guise? BMW makes 240 HP and 255 Tq. What do you expect it to do? 270 hp and 295 Tq is pretty damn good. And that performance comes at the price of fuel economy. The Ferrari 360 made less torque

Is the space behind the rear seats actually usable? For those people with a kid, dog, stroller, diaper bag, and living in the crappy NE winter, does this thing baby?

Couldn’t agree more. Insiders and teams are complaining that its a bunch of Business and Marketing degrees running the sport. Most have no prior racing experience. They are detached from the day to day. Latest rumors are that NASCAR is considering bringing back the front valence in lieu of a splitter. We can only hope

Ding ding ding nailed it. IMHO, Nascar made a huge mistake going to a splitter and adding more downforce to the package. Essentially, the cars are always in dirty air. There isnt a mechanism such as tire compounds to create ebb and flow to a race. Once the track is green, you are only going so fast. So, teams are

I have it on good authority that teams are now building their side panels so that not only will the lightest touch cause them to cave in and pinch the waist of the car, but that they bend and deflect at speed yet still meet the minimum gauge and template requirements. Think Audi LMP movable floor or F1 flexible front
