Agreed, this book takes such a negative view of so much of human culture and behavior that it’s borderline insulting.

“We learn the shocking truth that jabba was Han’s first and best friend! Then Lando came in and lied and cheated the way into Han’s #1 spot, framing Jabba for a crime he didn’t commit! After Lando changed His and Jabba’s deal of course, making the ESB scene very ironic!!! Also there’s an episode where they’re baby

Yeah, I think most fans understand the logic. I read the Young Han Solo books, but the rest of the stuff in the Expanded Universe wasn’t that enjoyable to me. Honestly, 90% of it seemed to be anywhere from average sci-fi writing to crappy fan-fiction level writing.

Thank you for the TFA post-pictures spoiler warning. I realize it sounds silly in a post that’s literally for spoilers but it let me cover the screen with my hand while scrolling and is appreciated nonetheless.

Or perhaps yours and his versions of Superman differ? As yours and mine obviously do because I loved MoS as a Superman fan? If you don’t like it, that’s your perog...but saying it’s “not to any concept of Superman.” is as offbase as a carte blanche statement gets?

I never read the comics and didn’t have any problems with those questions in STID.

I’d say you know a lot. Ran is fucking flawless.

There’s some plays that work with anachronisms and some that don’t. I think Shakespeare’s plays work well with some (guns in some places for bows, and knives for some swords, military uniforms, etc) and not so well in others (phones for example).

“It’d be pretty awesome if we had a Hulk,” he tells her.

He actually seems to have a pretty good grasp on comics and a certain level of flexibility around iconic characters that indicates a level of intelligence and open mindedness about new takes. Batman uses a sonic gun in the TDKR, while in the combat armor. Seems like direct canon to me.

Ashoka turning off her lightsabers and going after the Inquistor was pure badassery. One of my favorite moments of the series.

I think the first duel will be when she figures out who he is and how far into the Dark Side he’s fallen, but is too afraid to say (though that may have already happened). She’ll barely get away. Then the second duel, she’ll know full well that if she doesn’t kill Anakin Skywalker, he’ll kill her. And she’ll fight

As far as Loki goes, the obvious guess of what he’s up to is “hiding”.

Also, don't feel sorry for Apple users. They're getting a quality product and have the highest satisfaction rate in the business.

Uh Bluetooth headphones aren’t proprietary to Apple. It will be the industry norm, especially with this move.

Gah, your reviews are usually so funny - but in this one, you’re kind of just giving the show shit to give it shit.

Fun fact: Do you know what Bruce Wayne’s favorite animal is, according to Gotham? Bruce Wayne, the kid who will grow up to be Batman, a superhero themed solely on the flying mammal also known as members of the order Chiroptera? An owl, obviously.

The monks invading WAS perfectly reasonable, it was explained in detail why they wanted the building. It wasn’t absurd at all.

When I was in NYC a few months ago, I walked by an old church that has become a quirky shopping mall. I seen nothing that weird about there being an abby in 1800s era Gotham, or that it would go through a whole ton of different purposes afterwards.

and I want to stress this is also absolutely true—the “rub-n’-tug” establishment (as Barnes dubs it) operates out of the monks’ old abbey.
