Congratulations. Even with the punctuation and grammar you just wrote a far superior article than the one above it. I’ll be looking forward to his article next year about how he got back into whatever fandom he pitched all his memorabilia of and had to pay double on eBay for to rebuy things he already had.
hmm...yes...yes...I think I understand... ... ...I’ll just kick out anyone who makes fun of my “nerd stuff”
“each section of the planet has a massive statue presumably built by the ancient Chozo birdfolk that requires you to fill it with Metroid DNA before it drains its pool of damaging purple fluid.”
As I argued in detail in my comment on the original post on this topic, regardless of whether the developer’s aim was to censor or, as you put it, “cut off revenue streams of hateful people or hate groups”, etc., as long as they did so for ANY reason outside of protecting their copyrighted material against…
Devil’s Advocate here. Today we see PDP get DMCA’s because he dropped a racial slur. What’s to stop a game dev tomorrow from hitting another Youtuber with DMCA because they’re playing a game from a rival company? Or because the Youtuber was discussing his/her favorite brand of whiskey, and the game dev doesn’t want to…
Regardless of whether it’s “censorship,” it’s still an incorrect use of that system, and emblematic of the problem with that system. Irrespective of how justified for a completely different reason it may be to take a video down.
When does Metroid get his suit?
I understand that, that’s not my point. I’m not saying remakes are inherently bad, just that people might of reacted poorly to Zero Mission in 2004 because it wasn’t necessarily a new game. This was in response to the comment about looking at Zero Mission’s sales.
“Slow down!” we cried.
2010's Metroid: Other M on Wii (which, cards on the table, I enjoyed)
Nope. It’s not like being dropped by a sponsor at all. Because one case is about a sponsor, and the other is not. Dropping someone you’re sponsoring is withing your rights, filing a DMCA claim for a game you have given everyone permission to stream is not within your rights. DMCA is for copyright infringement, not…
This is what happens when you decide to double-down on your edgelording after getting called out on it: you squander all of your goodwill.
That’s like saying that when you flip a coin it lands on a side.
I don’t know, as far as I can tell Islam is generally the only religion that’s notably intolerant of images of their “deity” being used for fun. (or, AFAIK, any other way)
Maybe a video game can have too much detail?
Over the weekend in Charlottesville, Virginia, white supremacists held a rally that escalated into violence. An…
One year, but yeah. This is stuff they at least implied, if not outright stated, would be in the game at launch. What has become increasingly obvious over the past year is that NMS was not finished, and most of the defenses of the game as a “minimalist experience” or whatever are being shot full of holes by the game’s…
games take time to make properly, this company exceeded to the hype train and released it far too early. Or they just dumped out what they thought was playable and thought they could get away with not calling it early access. In either case good work does take time, they should have just taken all of the time at once…
