So, reverse Ghostbusters, I guess.

They’re specifically talking about the most recent Wolfenstein. Which is absolutely a woke SJW fantasy. All the games are anti-nazi. That’s not what they’re talking about. I bet you know that, though.

Secret of Mana was always boring. Sorry to tell you.

You sound really smart. You must be a Rick and Morty fan.

Looks a little too “streamlined” from the X-wing formula for my taste; doesn’t seem like it would have been much different from the space sections of Battlefront. Good news is that these folks are working on a pretty nice-looking space dogfighting game in the Wing Commander tradition:

You should be able to start having fun right away. Might take an hour or two to get the hang of the controls, but the tutorials are pretty good. If you’re not having fun within a couple of hours, you’ll probably never have fun with the game, because not that much changes.

So is jigger, for that matter.

I’m really proud of the gaming community for taking a stand on this issue. There needs  to be a lot more ongoing pushback on these sorts of practices. Most of the time gamers just roll over and accept any kind of predatory business tactic whenever a big publisher tacks it on to a AAA franchise release.

Twitch started out as an offshoot of Justin.tv - a “IRL” style inane livestreaming service, so there’s an argument to be made that the gaming emphasis is a diversion and the addition of “twitch IRL” is a return to their roots.

Well that’s the beauty of Twitch IRL - now you can watch people do other inane things.

Dumb and missing the point entirely. Can’t tell if this is willful obfuscation or not, but whatever I’ll take the bait:

You don’t have to “deal with” people making lists. None of it affects you unless you are actually interested in going and reading those lists.

FWIW, I love the graphs that they added to the review scores on Steam. The graphs do a tremendous job of contextualizing the review system.

I hope people push back against this, if only to delay whatever comes next. The slippery slope argument is always 100% proven to be true in every instance all the time everywhere every single time.

What if they initially got the Neil Armstrong quote right, and then someone got offended and demanded they change it, so later it read: “That’s one small step for person, one giant leap for people . . .”?

^^^ This guy gets it. That’s why I clicked on a star icon to “recommend” it, but there was no option to rate his comment from 1-10.

Would have been good if the developers had done just that, instead of caving and changing their game. That’s the thing that makes this so fascinating - the developers are getting bullied for capitulating to a different group of bullies.

I’m glad that there’s a big stupid backlash to the developer’s decision to cave into concern-trolls and change their game out of fear of a different kind of big stupid backlash. As long as they know that they’ll have to eat shit no matter what, they’ll have no choice but to make the decision that they actually believe

One detail worth pointing out about the AX missile outrage, is that the patch notes stated that Frontier were changing/nerfing a different damage value from the one that they actually changed. (Armor Piercing was supposed to have been reduced, instead Breach Chance was reduced). When people asked about the

They definitely do not cater to that crowd. They split the difference and somehow manage to piss everybody off. Anyway it’s a great game to play for 40-100 hours but it’s a mess in all kinds of ways. If you ever decide to play it, the best advice I can give is: (1) to recognize that it’s not really a functional MMO
