I find a disconnect in discussions and about how criminal justice reform is talked about in some social justice circles. People will have a ton of empathy for certain groups of people they are sympathetic to but not apply that empathy to others. People will talk about restorative justice for kids involved in gang…
The suggestion actually comes down to one question. Can a person change?
People are probably less angry about her not having super-intimate football knowledge as they are mad that mainstream voices are starting to reject football as violent, racist, and anti-woman. Which it is.
I will always love Taurasi. I’m shocked that she doesn’t get applause every time she’s back in CT. She is THE BEST UConn player period that I have ever seen and I’ve been lucky enough to see every single title they’ve won. She’s a straight up killer and always has been.
The mental picture of Beadle going Hit ‘Em Up on air really brightened my morning. Thank you.
As a hockey fan, and thus someone used to watching myriad ESPN personalities who obviously don’t watch hockey try to pretend that they do, about 90% of the people complaining about this will quickly get over it or forget she ever said anything, and the other 10% will continue to complain simply because they never…
Not really. The point is a lot of these “journalists” miss out on a lot of coverage of sporting events and still manage to talk about them and no one raises an eyebrow.
I enjoyed Norton’s film, quite a bit. It rebooted the character but skipped the origin story, several of the action scenes were quite good, and Norton was a pretty comfortable fit with Bruce Banner. I think it’s often unfairly maligned.
THEY took down the Connecticut sun. They could probably dispatch the Phoenix suns as well.
I have Get Up on every morning as background noise. I like Beadle and Jalen Rose. But I do wonder how long it’s going to go, because there are a couple of topics that Beadle and Rose don’t really give a fuck about ESPN’s milquetoast wishes. For Beadle it’s violence against women.
Thats right. I forgot the first day at Columbia Journalism School where they said “If you have a vagina, you will not be taken serious as a sports reporter.”
Right but she’s a woman so her unbiased perspective is invalid.
Zach Lowe, who maybe ESPN’s best NBA writer, is entirely open when discuss draft prospects that he has not seen them and knows nothing about them. He will discuss what the NBA team needs and how the player might fit based on others breakdowns, but he doesn’t pretend like watching 100 college games on top of his NBA…
One of the worst question a doctor ever asked me was if I would be okay with her writing a paper about me.
I can’t imagine the shitshow that would ensue if owners made a real attempt at getting access to players mental health records. I want to say they couldn’t be that stupid, but in today’s world who knows.
2-3 days per day in hospital, 7 days per day spent in ICU. That’s a rough estimate on feeling back to normal following hospitalization for illness. Back to professional athlete normal will (likely) take longer.
Chambers work on the FOX Sports Arizona post-game show should win him an Emmy for best cranky old fuck who is openly contemptuous of everything the NBA has become since his retirement.
Came here for the highlights of his dunks. He was legit. Quite unlike the stooge that accosted him in the restaurant. Turd.
Glad to hear he’s at least stable; definitely a long climb back to normalcy, but a good first step all the same.
