I can't believe anyone would defend texting while driving. Every single study that has looked at this has shown that texting while driving leads to more accidents. Most studies show that talking on the phone while driving (even hands-free) is just as bad as drinking and driving. Why is this worse than changing the

Not defending the $10k fine, but according to the 2010 census, Alaskan has the 2nd highest median income, and 8th highest per capita income in the nation. I think they're doing better than "barely" getting by.

Re: US National Park Free Entrance Day, it isn't just national parks, but some other facilities operated by the National Park Service. I went to the Fort Vancouver National Historic Site in Vancouver, WA a couple years ago. It happened to be one of these free entrance days.

"highlighting a character's crotch on-screen at the movies is hi-larious, and always will be."

No, this is the original image published by NASA. Cassini was launched in 1997, and its cameras have 1 MP sensors. Believe me, if there were a higher-res image, I would have found it by now. :)

Yes, very. If I could get a poster-size image, it would be on my wall.

Aesthetically, the last photo is more attractive to me than the one you called "most beautiful."

"Not all doctors take it."

I've fortunately never had a power surge or lightning strike damage any equipment, but even at this unit's price (around $85), I think it's a pretty good insurance policy for equipment that I spent over $1,000 for. This unit comes highly recommended, and is well-designed and solidly built. 3,570 joule rating (the

It is fascinating. I saw Newgrange just this past May, and Knowth in 2008. Spectacular, and the mysteries about them are intoxicating.

For me, it was the original Banana Republic traval/safari catalogs. It had the feel of an old company, but it was started in the 1970's, and only lasted a few years before The Gap bought them out and converted them to a preppie/white bread/boring mall store.

As far as I'm concerned, guacamole is a waste of good avocados. I have yet to find an avocado recipe that beats just eating them straight.

Has anyone considered keeping a piece of paper and a pen/pencil on you? You could just write down where your car is. My god, what has happened to us, when we are so dependent on technology?

Cars 'at least' 20 years old will likely not have a remote. And, as the author said in the article, he doesn't have a remote. The point of the article is ways to remember where your car is when you don't have such conveniences.

Well, if you have to have accounts in two email systems that have sucky interfaces, they might as well suck in the same way.

I wonder if this holds true for biodiesel. Since Nitrogen oxide is the one area where biodiesel emits more than regular diesel, I'd have to guess that it does. That's bad news.

Yeah, I was going for Finian's Rainbow. It guessed Donnie Darko. LOL!

I've found that WD-40 works pretty well, but before I use any solvent, the first thing I try is a piece of Scotch tape. If I've just pulled the label off, and if there's a large enough piece of it, the old label itself can work for this. Repeatedly pressing and releasing the adhesive side of tape onto the surface

Yeah, we were raised with the tomato juice treatment for skunk. Works on laundry, too, not just dogs.

Yeah, the Ducks are really a laughingstock, in my opinion. They have turned players into fashion models. They haven't looked like a football team (uniform-wise) for years. At the very least, the Ducks uni they picked for this list belongs higher up the list. #6, I'd say.
