Locking out driver seat controls is a terrible idea, because it means the driver could be locked into an unsafe position while in motion. It’s an edge case, sure, but edge cases are where bad things happen.

I’m here for an ePao.  Torch, Nissan needs to hire you as a Director of Obscure Vehicle Strategy/Chief Light Fetishist.

I can’t fathom how many people refuse to understand this simple fact. We all have the right to choose. Sometimes the choice you make will not result in an outcome that is pleasing or beneficial to you. Even in the military, you can choose. Of course, the consequences of a bad choice are much rougher. Those truckers

Even if the vaccine did have a tracking chip, we’re already being tracked by our phones, credit cards, computers, gaming systems, and- for those of us with newer models- cars. We’re not that special

Alberta in particular, has a law that prohibits the blocking or impeding of any critical infrastructure (highways, rail lines, bridges etc...).During the First Nations blockades of pipeline roads the RCMP moved in and busted heads.

Best post of the thread. Right here. And yes, I’m glad I’m not the only one noticing the change in opinion related to blocking roadways.

Solar storage seems to be the best use for these. Recycle the batteries that are truely no longer good, but reuse the batteries that have some capacity left. With most single family homes(82m in the US), space and weight is not an issue like it is in a car so a heavily degraded battery is not useless. A battery bank

That steering wheel could go. Full Self Driving works perfectly 100% of the time, right?

even if it is a stripped-down Model 3 in the end

I vote:

Can we get a Morning Shift and then a Tesla: Morning Shift? Like split them up. Cause it’s getting ridiculous.

1st Gear: I can’t help but feel like the affordable Tesla is bait and switch vaporware. Musk has been promising a reasonably priced Tesla is coming in the near future pretty much since he bought Tesla, and we’re still not really any closer to it.

Similar situation in Australia over the same time period.

These “knockdown” oddities are tied into the very strict import controls and currency restrictions that lasted in New Zealand from the 1940s to the 1970s. There’s a ton of fascinating exhibits on this at Te Papa in Wellington (when you can start visiting NZ again) and some high level descriptions online at https://tea
