I have leased a few cars and will be doing what this article is about later this year. You negotiate the “sale” price of the vehicle up front when setting up the lease and then you are effectively paying for the depreciation and interest rather than those two plus equity if you were buying the car. So really buying

That’s good, I thought that was going to be the case going into Bahrain. I usually end up enjoying the qualifying more than the actual race quite often lately

Thishas been the best non instant stuff I have found.

I swim 3 to 5 times a week depending on how often I drag myself out of bed before work. I would really suggest once you get comfortable, do more than just the crawl. Backstroke, breaststroke, and god forbid butterfly, all work out different muscles. I feel you get a better full body workout this way.

That was intense to see Alonso crawl out from under the wreckage on live TV. Especially when you were expecting something like a simple spin by Gutierrez.

What is that saying ? Ah yes...“There is no such thing as bad press”

I have never really been into rally racing, probably because it was never televised when I was growing up. Recently I have been hooked on Colin McRae Rally on my iPhone and watching videos like this. Just the narrow chute lined with people and flash bulbs going off even!

After a quick Google search

I would daily the sh!t out of this thing.

I only took behind the wheel training really early in the morning before school when there were no other cars on the road. I only practiced my driving out on the country roads with no one around. Because of this I didn’t know you were supposed to yield to oncoming traffic when making a left turn at a green light.

Uhh no, I want my hat bills flat and my expensive WRX’s STI’ed please and thank you

Unfortunately no we have a family camping trip scheduled that weekend.

Thanks!

I love the Z4 race car. So allow me the to use this excuse to post a few of my favorite shots I got of it at Laguna Seca earlier this year.

I think they should revisit the design of these cars going forward and do what the FIA did in 2006 and forbid ballasts placed in the nose cone and move it into the monocoque.

I think I read somewhere that the ballast in those nose cones can be up to 16-20lbs, which seems quite heavy. I think IndyCar should do what the FIA did in 2006 and forbid these types of ballast, F1 cars carry a majority of it in the monocoque. The engineers should be able to figure it out just as F1 has.

Honestly I do not follow Indy Car at all but perhaps another solution would be to move the ballast to another more fixed location? That way you would still be able to replace the nose cone at a pit stop speed and if it were to come loose it would be light enough to reduce the rick of injury.

Great article Stef. I for one, am shocked to learn there is no tether on the Indy Car's nosecone. Especially considering the heavy ballast that they are reported to hold. That was one of the first things that came to mind.

That’s great news as I feel Kimi has gotten the short end of the stick reliability wise this year
